Did Canelo slaughter the mystique behind GGG being the boogeyman?

they playe the jab the jab game. A wonderful strategy if gg's or canelo's style is in the ring. I was paying attention the whole match to the jabs, and gg didnt outjab canelo, and if he did, he did it by a really small and meaningless number of jabs. I dont care about what you or compubox say, I watched the fight, and I know what I'm watching when I'm watching boxing. Sorry, no. What's true is that gg threw more jabs, and missed and missed and missed and missed again, as well as his powershots, he spent the whole F night missing.

 

That is simply not accurate and shows you have no idea what you watched, assuming you even watched the fight. Canelo was at a reach advantage and tried to score with short punches. He threw jabs but not very many, and most of them missed as they were defensive in nature.

Not true at all. While both men had tight defense and didn't land as much as they usually do, Golovkin certainly landed a significant number of poweful punches. It's on film.

 

This. IMHO Jacobs did just as well as Canelo

 

I thought Canelo didn't do anything to win the fight,he seemed satisfied to be on his feet after 12, on the flip side I thought GGG never looked worse, he began to look like a 35 year old middleweight. Rematch? why ,the fight was awful

 

Just because Floyd couldnt hurt Canelo if they fought 15 rounds doesnt mean Floyd sucks, it just means that Canelo is too smart to get hurt

 

Doesn't matter if you want to argue the merit of the jabs in that sequence, not like you can't drop in on a random clip of the fight and find Golovkin connecting with other jabs. There was only over a 100 of them.

When a fighter really out jabs someone the entire night, you don't have to argue if one was a slight touch or not. Were these slight touches, rocking Canelo's head in clear view of the camera and forcing him to retreat?

If you want to talk power shots, they were pretty even with Golovkin landing more to the head.
