I think his corner didn't want to see any more, and it was there decision. I could be wrong, but in any event, the right decision was made.

Shot to pieces was Jose Luis Castillo.

He was losing the fight, and it was apparent to anyone who didn't go to take a leak that Jose was done. Had nothing to offer the spectators or himself. No use letting it go on any longer.

Yeah he lost his will to fight. It was only supposed to be a payday fight for him anyway.

although I am a major Castillo fan I strongly disagree here. Also although i went to **** when the fight was stopped i didn't miss a minute of it. Castillo was losing but he was not getting seriously hurt at all.

Maaaan, who cares. Nice career but he's very much done. I'd rather have seen him quit than watch 7 more rounds of that.

You actually think I'm going to argue with you over this?

If you really want to have a worthwhile discussion then create a thread detailing why Manny Pacquiao was the greatest Featherweight of the decade.

Castillo was getting weaker, Gomez was getting stronger, and each round that passed Gomez was landing cleaner and harder shots than the previous round.

Castillo was given the opportunity in his corner to turn it around, when it only got worse, what more is there really to do than to save a once great fighter from taking an unecessary beating????

I think I'm in the minority here who does'nt criticize fighters for retiring on their stool where there is really no hope of victory.

Lets be honest here......I think I'd rather see a young fighter that has'nt made a name for himself go as long as he can and try to fight through adversity.

......but with a fighter like Castillo, give me a ****ing break......He's more than paid his dues, and has more than earned the right to have himself or his corner thrown in the towel and retire on his stool when his body is'nt cooperating and is not doing the things necessary to compete.

How dare you PH|LLA question Castillo's manhood, but I cant say I'm suprised.:-(

lol I am not criticizing the guy. I am just surprised and disappointed at the decision to stop the fight at that moment.

Castillo is a warrior always has been but IMO he should have fought on. I am not questioning his manhood. Castillo is a great fighter.

    don't be so sensitive.
