It continues to support the truth that Dawson has always been the LHW champ (not JC or BHOP). Joe's nuthuggers want to say he would have handled Chad but the reality is Joe would have been certainly destroyed. Adamek is actually the best white Euro fighter in a good while (above both Calzaghe & Kessler, and (since he doesn't enjoy their size advantages) the Klits too).
You could be giving a eulogy about a dead family member and you'd still find a way to put Joe Calzaghe in it. You post about him more these days than China Hand does.
Yeah it has to. Ray Leonard must have been happy in the 1980s to see Hearns winning title after title and building his legacy, or Duran when he beat Moore. So this helps Dawson.
By the same token, because Adamek's doing this 25 pounds above the LHW limit, it could also be a sign that he was weight drained and gives him an excuse for the Dawson fight. After all, he did move up directly following the loss and has beaten better fighters than he ever did at light heavy, and has looked better doing it. I'm not discrediting it by any means, just playing a little devil's advocate- as I posted earlier, it's still Dawson's best win in my book by a clear margin because even any version of Adamek was a tough matchup at 175, but the credit Chad can get from it has been pretty much maxed out for me. What Adamek does from here on out isn't that relevent to the version Chad beat.
B-HOP playesd musical chairs with that Ring LHW belt. Hasnt been "a' champ at LHW for a few years now.
Is there a diffirence between a "white euro" and a "black euro"? is the color of skin necesary to point out:roll:
I'd put Dawson about 14th on my P4P list. Adamek about 12th. Dawson beating a top LHW would push him higher up the list, I just think Adamek has done more since the Dawson fight. I don't usually get swaye by multiple titles in different divisions, but Adamek moving up to CW and beating probably the top guy (once Haye had left) and beating a top contender (I have never rated Banks but was a very impressive K.O nonetheless) put him above Dawson IMO. Dawson has beaten two top guys as well, but I think Adamek has been slightly more impressive.
Good point. Although people usually look at the records and do not look at the other variables. You are totally correct though. But in the end a win is a win and Dawson did beat Adamek.
Nope. :deal It doesn't work like that.:nono If it did, it would have gotten worse, if anything, because Adamek proved once again he had no business fighting Dawson at LHW. Beating a weight-drained CW and being lucky not to get KOed...well...you do the maths.:good
