Calzaghe beat the best version of Lacy from pillar to post, with bad hands - and there are few more one sided beatings in memory - that fight generally wins most polls of that nature by a large margin. Taylor beat a lacy who was mentally scarred, post career threatening injuries - taking away so much of his power, and lost at least one round, almost put down - and didn't look half as good as joe. calzaghe and taylor on the same level? Calzaghe would make Taylor his *****.
Lacy fell in complete love with building muscles and staring in the mirror apparently as he became some sort of muscle magazine pinup instead of a fighter/boxer (and surely took Joe much too casually). He couldn't move his arms to scratch his dick. Then he choked massively in front of a tremendously hostile crowd. Good win for Joe (about time after hiding in a cave for 8+ years). But Joe's not better overall than Taylor. Joe is better in several areas but they are mitigated by his relatively average athleticism. Joe got a weak split decision over an older version of Hopkins. Taylor got an unanimous decision and a split decision over a slightly younger (old) Hopkins. Would Joe "make Taylor his *****" the same way he made the great Salem his *****? How about Bika? Brewer? Or would look pretty dismal and struggle like against that world beater Robin Reid? Joe has only fought two fighters in their prime in his entire career (that mattered and neither are elite - Lacy & Kessler). He didn't blow out Kessler either. Taylor would be a struggle for Joe. Now if you want to say in 2001 that Joe will make Mario Veit and Will McIntyre his ***** people will believe you. Taylor? No ****ing way. Here rewatch this and remind yourself of what an amazing physical talent Joe is ... lmao. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116211 Then go through his career and review all the KOs of great fighters he has booked.
Maybe they do on paper but if you watch those fights back to back you will see i'm spot on. Calzaghe demolished Lacy. Embarassed him. Taylor won 11 rounds but Calzaghe probably won every round more convincingly than Taylor's most convincing round. Also Calzaghe put Lacy on his ass.
