George, the Wlad fights, Ike. I love them all equally.

It is especially gratifying to watch if Byrd has been pulling those stupid ****ing faces in the early rounds.

    Because Nady thought he overtrained.

What I meant is why would nady think that he overtrained? What are signs of overtraining?

Fighting at Heavy then cutting down to LHW. Regardless of Byrd's constant bleating over the years about how he was such a "small heavyweight in the land of the giants."

Moving down from heavyweight to light heavyweight, looking a bit like a crackhead, having no legs and getting knocked out by a mediocre puncher.

Those are some signs of overtraining. Meaning wearing yourself out trying to make a lower weight and basically beating yourself up before the fight even starts.

you mean being weakened due to dramatic weight loss and loss of muscle tissue.

Certainly not. Byrd has always been a blown up middleweight.

    Just ask his fans.

    Yeah, everything.

Training in boxing is basically beating yourself up. You are tearing your body down. You have to eat and sleep and rest to allow your body to recover.

You can't do that very well as you age. And you sure as hell can't do it well when you expect to starve yourself to be 40 lbs below your fighting weight.

Byrd didn't lose 40lbs of blubber like Hatton or Vargas. He lost 40 lbs of his core body weight, muscle and strength.

To me he looked like a neighborhood drug addict in there before a punch was thrown. He looked sick and unhealthy.

Thanks for clearing that up, I heard that term before but I never really understood what it meant.

It looked to me that he said stop the fight to the ref. The ref should have done it for him, that was a terrible non-stoppage.

Byrds shoulder was shot, he had no legs and no snap on his punches, if anyone holds this against him they should really just shut the **** up.

    No kidding.

I really wonder if Byrd sparred at all in training, and if he did, whether his people were being honest with what they were seeing. It is shocking that the same guy who beat a count off a perfect Ike left hook couldn't take straight rights from Shaun George. Father Time is a nasty SOB.

I think that deep down inside they all knew that his chances weren't good including himself. But chris is a warrior, and like Michael Jordan said after retiring "I can accept failure but I can't accept not trying" my respect to chris byrd.
