I haven't watch the fight in a while and to be honest If Corrie Sanders actually came in great shape in that fight there is not doubt in my mind he would have beat Vitali.
When Corrie was in his best shape he did set traps, but instead fought off the front foot. Against both Wlad and Vitali, Corrie set the trap and caught each of them with a very similar short counter shot that rocked them both to the core. Vitali was visibly troubled and IMO.....it should have been ruled a KD. However, an inshape Sanders boxes completely different than we seen vs the young Klitschko brothers.:thumbsup
Vitali was no doubt hurt but I don't think it was a KD. Their arms were tangled as were there feet (Vitali's left, Sanders' right). Great HW fight, by the way. Probably hasn't been a better one since.
Ultimately Vitali was pushed onto the canvas. No KD. However if it wasn't for the desperate clinging, Vitali would have gone down.
Was definitely a knockdown. But Vitali showed what Wladimir couldn't - if you let the near-40yr old fighter go past two rounds, he fased quickly and was easy prey.
just watched it again...not a KD in my book, but he was hurt from punches before that. Ref called it right IMO.
sanders pushed vitali instead of letting him hold (smart move) ive no doubt tho if he didnt stop throwing he would have put him down..but it was a push that send him over (and an easy route for rest bite for vitali) so no knock down..
