I remember for a while people were saying that Brewster had Wlad's number, and no offense to those who thought that.. but that was just completely stupid.

Corrie Sanders on the other hand genuinely gave Wlad problems, and he also seemed like someone who would ALWAYS give Wlad problems. Sanders is no longer at whatever peak he was ever at so I wouldn't even bother making a prediction if they were to fight today, but the Sanders who beat Wladimir that particular night, IMO would beat Wladimir on any night.

    Thoughts and opinions?

That night he did. There's no way Sanders beats him now.

    Styles make fights.
At the time I think Corrie matched up well against the over confident less trained Wladimir. A rematch would be a death sentence for Corrie.
As I once heard Lennox Lewis say "When you have a trainer like Manny Steward you know how to fight any style that's put in front of you.

I disagree. Corrie Sanders was in perfect range to fire the left at Wladimir, he was quicker than Wlad, and not only that but his left was ****ing sneaky.. he even caught Vitali with a few good ones. I'm not a WLAD-hater but I truly believe that Sanders had Wladimir's number.

Sanders was shot when he KO'd Wlad beleave or not now he isn't even a fighter anymore as for Brewster he was a threat before the fight with Sergie now he is no longer a player in the division.

Any fighter with a little skill and some balls could have done that to Wladmir at that time, simply because he didnt know how to "fight". He knew ho to box, but he didnt know how to fight, and he fell apart when fighters took it to him, and didnt cooperate with him on the outside.

I actually predicted Sanders was going to blow Klitschko away. I figured Klitschko was too much in love with his own left hook and using something like that vs Sanders wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Considering Sanders' southpaw stance, hand speed, power and accuracy, I would have kept Klitschko away from him if I was his trainer at all cost.

Now, I think Klitschko has enough ringsmarts to not fall into that trap. But Sanders was never an easy fight for anybody that I can think of.

I agree even with stewart he has problems, against Peter who had a good chin and balls but was slow, crude and telegrahing slow round houses he paniced makeing Peter look good and nearly losing the fight, a paek Tyson, Foreman, Liston, Frazier or even Marciano would do a number on Wlad.

I don't see where we disagree. I agree with everything you just wrote.
Corrie was in perfect range to fire the left because he matched up well.
He did have faster hands that's a good match up for Corrie. He most defintely had Wlad's number then.
I don't think Corrie has a snow ball chance in Hell of ever beating Wlad again. Steward would have him ready for sure IMO.

Wlad was arrogant and unprepared. Sanders would not beat him again.

As it stands, yes, Corrie does have Wlad's number.

No, he didn´t have his number.

Corrie just had very fast hands and Wlad´s defense was somewhat lacking. Then corrie got slightly lucky and landed a punch Wlad never recovered from.

I think if you could redo the match, Wlad would win maybe 7 out of 10 times in that scenario. Therefore I´d say Corrie was a bit lucky, but certainly not freak lucky like Oliver McCall against Lewis or Foreman against Moore.

Sorry, I should've been more clear about what I was disagreeing on. I was disagreeing with Lennox' notion of "When you have a trainer like Manny Steward you know how to fight any style that's put in front of you." While it has SOME ring of truth to it, it doesn't matter what trainer you use your weaknesses will always be there.

I think good punchers with fast hands will always be dangerous for Wlad, can't really see anyone like that in the curent division though, couple of prospects but no contenders.
