Jab seems to cause Floyd a lot of problems.

Jab, yes. But you need more. His Uncle Roger said the one man that would have been tough for Floyd was Vernon Forrest.

Mostly when he doesn't use his own Jab. The fight in general becomes tougher.

I don't know. I would have to go back and look but it just seems that when Sr. has some influence, the Jab becomes Floyd's main weapon. When he is out of the gym, he dismisses the Jab compared.

if so its the same blueprint that every boxing analyst says going into mayweathers fights, "you need to jab".....unfortunately you cant just jab to beat mayweather.

Its going to take a fighter with all the physical gifts; speed, accuracy, stamina, and counterpunching ability to beat floyd. Along with a jab

that whole rough him up, cut off the ring **** doesn't work. This fight definitely showed that that game plan needs to be trashed..

And since i agree with the ts that the Jab is the most effective punch to use on Floyd than you can deduce that Pac has no chance cuz he has no jab

blueprint? not really. Floyd still won. cotto may have done well- but plenty of guys have done well against floyd. floyd does what it takes to win. sometimes its more than enough- sometimes its just enough. but he keeps winning. frustratingly so. i mean we get excited when floyd gets touched, but forget to put it back into perspective- that he was still, in a sense, dominant. its just because he rarely loses a round- and we for once saw him lose a couple. plent of people can take a couple of rounds from floyd, zab, oscar, mosley. but the thing is to do it over 12 rounds. he makes adjustments so well its hard to find single plan. you need another boxing savant to beat a boxing savant.

The blueprint is you have to be better then him. The notion that Mayweather can be beat by just a game plan continues to be a silly notion. You want to beat Mayweather you need to be better then Mayweather at what you do then what Mayweather is at what he does.

yea that blueprint was to pray that floyd goes into the fight injured! LOL

thats like saying Sonnen showed the blueprint to beating Anderson Silva while silva had broken ribs!

Mayweather fought Castillo the second time and convincingly beat him

i think floyd beats pac- but what you said isnt necessarlly so.
the reason the jab is effective is because it comes from the angle to floyds right eye. he cant roll it like he does with rights, and he cant use the right hang to block it easily - as thats guarding the hook. the straight left comes of a southpaw comes in at the same angle as an orthodox jab. which is why floyd dosent use the shoulder roll as much as a high guard against southpaws.

most times floyd will space himself and pull counter the jab, as his reach is longer, and most people let the jab hang or pull it back . he did this against marquez all night. when fighters plunge the jab in- step into it hard- so that its harder to counter- as the shoulder guards the right, and the jab is harder to lean back on- floyd has been hit , as we saw tonight, castillo and some oscar.

The jab and the reach of Vernon Forrest presents a problem for a whole lot of WWs.
