Did Cotto request a rehydration clause for Margarito?

I heard that he did, but most importantly there isn't one.

Yeah, that's what Robert Garcia said. They wanted Margo to weigh no more than 160 in a second weigh-in the day of the fight, if I recall correctly.

The weight is one thing but a rehydration clause is absolutely ridiculous and should not be allowed at all. What's the point of a ****ing fight if you're limiting what state or shape your opponent can come in at. As long as they come in at the weight and aren't using.

I had read something like that about a week ago but there was no confirmation, given that he did not get the 150 catchweight i doubt garcia would even consider letting marg walk to the ring at 160.

poor article. i don't know why boxingnews24 put **** and bias articles like this. the writer even said that cotto picked an "easy" fight in margarito when it was all about trying to avenge your loss to the one who beats you.

I'd be more concerned with the hydration of the plaster in his gloves.

^ I think they're afraid that this time, he'll have the plaster surgically implanted INSIDE his hands.
    That stuff is heavy!

    Cotto is a small JMW.

I would look to keep Margarito from being a 5'11" 170lber as well.

If its true then I wonder where he got this idea from??

Cotto could have beat Margo with the plaster in his hands, but he fought a stupid fight. Probably because he lacked the ability to make it happen. Instead he just allowed Margo to land the first shot and sometimes multiple shots before he even retaliated. He didn't set traps for the come forward Margarito and have him walk into something. He didn't look to limit Margo's punch out put. He kept looking to hurt Margo with a big punch rather then breaking him down. Didn't go to the body. Cotto was an overrated boxer.
