I don't know the exact numbers, but it was the most I can remember him throwing it, I was real suprised he out jabbed Mosley. Of course Molsey's jab has never been the same since the first Forrest fight IMO.

I'm not sure, but I think he threw more jabs against Mosley than he did against Judah. The thing I've noticed with Cotto's jab, other than it has the power of an average welterweight's right hand, is that he has great timing with it.

He still used a very effective jab in the Judah fight, especially considering that Judah is a southpaw. I have seen him use a good jab on many occasions, against Bazan, Malignaggi, abdulleav ect ect. Its what makes Cotto so effective IMO, as it is essential to closing the distance on his taller foes.

It's not like Mosely has great defence now.

The best thing about his jab is his footwork, and his balance. He really brings his back foot forward when throwing it, meaning that he covers excellent distance with the punch for a shorter fighter. Its what makes the punch effective even against taller foes.

True, he's always been succeptable to a good jabber, but even in other fights, Cotto has shown great timing with the jab.

I don't know the numbers but it sure as hell looked like he used it more. I was very impressed because I didnt think he could jab like that.

He used his jab very well. It was probably what won him the fight because Mosley had him equalled on everything else.

Good jab is Mosleys worst nightmare (it was proven in all his loses and in Delahoya rematch).
Judah managed to shoulder roll most of Cottos jabs but it was still landing partialy. From fights Iv seen, Cottos jab is one of his main weapons along with left hook to the body, thats why I think he have a chance to beat Mayweather if they meet.

according to compubox, Mosley landed more powerpunches but Cotto's jabs might as well have been put into the powerpunches category cuz he was really having serious impact with it, whereas mosley's jabs didn't really amount to **** with all due respect.

Aren't you the guy calling Cotto all hype, yet you don't understand the importance of the jab?
