The state of people on here sometimes. They don't read posts properly. In response to the OP, I don't think there is a doubt that although thoroughly out boxed in the first 4 rounds, Khan was starting to counter and having success, and whilst not troubling Crawford in terms of making him wobble, Khan was certainly finding the target. Do I think the low blow was a deliberate attempt to slow Khan down? Well low blows are a part of the sport, if you are not spot on with a body shot, it's the risk you run. This one was particularly low though, so you could argue there is something in what is being said. I don't personally believe it, but if Crawford was starting to worry about Khans speed, it would be a great way to slow him down, and worth the risk.
I read the OP properly. I also read the thread title properly. So the question of whether Crawford deliberately hit Khan with a low blow or not is a perfectly reasonable question, but if he did, to suggest that in doing so was his way of quitting is ridiculous.
Low blows happen all the time in boxing, we've seen fighters get hit in the groin more than once and continue, conman Khan got hit in the leg rather than the groin didn't even bother to take the 5 minutes to recover. He wanted out plain and simple. Live to fight another day, eh Amir ??
Crawford was looking for a way out. He knew King Amir was just starting to warm up so threw a low blow to get DQ'd before he got KO'd. Which means Khan now has the best win in the sport, really. So my P4P is something like this 1) Khan 2) Chisora 3) Soto Karas 4) GGG 5) Kane (90's version)
Fyi smudge and wizbit too. Guys I didnt say crawford quit. i posed a question...whilst stating i didnt beleive it to be true....in an effort to stimulate debate...isnt that the point of forums? Hope u can grasp these facts with better education i just provided.
That’s interesting...two posts (this one and your post calling me thick) that suggest others have an inferior intelligence to yourself. You sound familiar...
It looks like Crawford knew what he was doing, which is a bit bizarre, maybe it was a deliberate low blow designed to totally take the wind out of Khan's sails and nullify any threat he had.
