Did Daniel Dubois make fun of Joe Joyce's blind mom before the fight?

    At the end of the presser, when the time came for audience questions, Joyce’s mother Marvel requested the microphone.

    Marvel, who is registered 93 per cent blind, asked: “Daniel, if you get ill before the fight, are you going to pull out?”

    To which Dubois replied: “No my dear. You know what, I’m gonna do you a favour. Because you can’t see your son, after he’s been knocked out, you will be spared the heartache.”

    Joyce then chimed in: “Oh, aren’t you nice.”

    Yes that comment was in very poor taste by Dubois and it came back to haunt him badly.

    In the same interview Sam Jones asked him
    what would he do when Joe is still standing there after taking his best. Does he have a plan B other than going all out for the knock out?

    She took it and Joyce finished by making Dubois quit. It was nice to hear Joyce’s Mum telling Joyce to keep jabbing Dubois eye liking pounded yam. Kind of poetic.

    Joe Joyce's blind mother on IFLTV regarding Dubois: "Hopefully he's learned his lesson now. He has to respect his elders. Now he's got his eye all bust up he'll know what it's like not to see… I saw you quit. Well, I didn't really! Anyway, get well soon."

    Dubois isnt a nasty lad. alot of what he says hes been goaded into saying but compare him to Gentleman Joe Juggernaut Joyce and he looks like a wanker. Joe Joyce is a very nice easy going man, a big man, perhaps the nicest guy in boxing right now.

    Not as bad as when I first saw it mentioned in other threads.
    She did start it by questioning DDs willingness to fight. DD gave her some smack back but in poor taste.

    But lefts face it, who has ever considered DD or JJ witty or verbally "quick on their feet"? :thinking:

    I don’t really understand Joyce’s mom’s question. Why would he get ill before the fight? Is she talking about COVID, or perhaps insinuating that he would be scared to fight her son and fake an illness?

    "Now, you make fun of his blind mother. Then, you let Joyce punch your eye shut. Then you say you were afraid of going blind, that's why you quit? That'll help sell tickets to an event that no one can buy tickets to. Sound good everybody? Okay, great. Good meeting."
