Why does it matter how many title fights Haye had? He has beaten everyone of note at CW and the rest did not deserve to be in the same ring with him.

Why is Wlad not fighting Senad Gashi's and Keith Thompson's of the world? Because they are not worthy of his time and the result is predetermined. The same is true for David Haye at CW - there was nobody left out there who could challenge him, so he decided to move up in weight and fight men who are 2-3 times bigger than he is.

He almost knocked Wlad out? I seem to remember Haye catching Wlad with a big shot in the 12th, and Wlad holding for a moment. Is that the one you are referring to?
What happemed after that? didnt Wlad drive Haye back across the ring and into a corner, making Haye run away the rest of the round and abandon all plans of trying to win the fight, even though he needed a knockout to win?

 

I only watched that fight once 3 years ago, but I do remember Haye rocking Wlad badly in the 12th round, which prompted a 10-15 second hug from Wlad. If my memory serves me right, only then WK started backing Haye up, which is not that difficult to do when you are towering over your opponent.

It was a bad night for Haye: toe injury, hometown advantage for Wlad, ridiculous height/weight advantage for Wlad, etc.
