Did David Haye ruin his HW career?

    Just for debate.

    Haye had a shot at the recognized best heavyweight. Whatever the real reason he pulled out of this fight, he has been told to get back in friggin line. Haye is not an active fighter by any standard. He only has 22 professional fights and has been out of the ring for 8 months and counting. He will never see the 50 fight mark nor even the 40 fight mark. Now he will likely have to fight a few other heavies and haye could get chin checked in these fights. If he does get chin checked he will fall even further from ever making a splash at heavyweight.

    Here are my two questions to ESB.

    1) If Haye had fought Wlad and lost would he have been given a pass for this loss due to being the smaller man?

    2) Has Haye by pulling out of the HW title fight ruined his career at heavyweight?

    It hasn't ruined his career but it's put it on life support. Now Haye needs to prove his worth at HW, and do it in spectacular fashion. He can no longer rely on personality, hype or trash talking. He's played that card and, after all the stunts and name calling, neither Klitchko is ready to hand him a payday unless it is well earned.

    u sure he has ruined it, i belive he has totally jusitfied his career, if he can get wins against povetkin, arreola and maskeav then a fight with klitschko will bring him more publicity than ever before and will bring more fans and more demand for the klitschkop fight than ever before

    but the klits have got to hold firm and say no until you get some wins

    I don't think he "ruined" it per se but he is now going to have to take a few fights to earn a Mandatory and I don't think he can get past 2 fights unless it is Maskaev and Ruiz.

    Concidering how well prepared Klitchko was and his shape, I would say he was lucky that the fight fell through because he would have been knocked out and probably early too. Now he has a chance to fight smaller and weaker opponents and if he survives he might get a shot an an older past his prime Klitchko in 2-3 years and a bigger chance of a victory.

    not dead career, but I think he set it back. I think the "talking ****" card is long gone. I dont think most fans want to hear it any more. Its time to fight and fight TOP guys. Thats the only way to get back IMO. The Klitschko wont listen to the **** talking anymore and I dont think they should

    He should've just kept busy and fighting top 10 guys, instead of wasting so much time.

    Yeah! My gut feeling somehow tells me that Haye is out of the picture for the next upcomming months unless Valuev and Vitaly dont come to terms.

    he certainly hasn't "ruined" his "hw career." if anything he ruined his chance to jump right into a title shot (probably undeserved). but all he will have to do now is win once against any top 10 guy (and look decent) and he'll be right back at the front of the line. anyway he is what 28 or 29? in today's hw division that's like a baby.
