Did Deontay Wilders right hand put the fear of God into Fury?

LMAO at people pulling Fury up on stuff he has said in the past...... the guy has contradicted himself constantly for years..... so you think he cares..... he knows it's all a game.

    Fury is not stupid
he is a student of boxing......no other of the heavyweights can sit and talk boxing history like fury can
end of the day he beat Vlad in Germany when no one gave him a hope
after his meltdown fought a couple of cab drivers before being robbed against Wilder when few gave him a chance.

that performance and his personality won him the big ESPN contract...and he will fight tallish bums until the wilder rematch

anyone who thinks he is afraid of fighting wilder again is an idiot

There is absolutely no doubting Fury’s ability. He is a top level boxer, he has one of the greatest wins of all time. He went to Germany and dethroned an absolute legend of the sport who had dominated for a decade.

But when you take away that Klitschko win you have the Chisora win and not much else. His career is in danger of becoming a heavyweight BJS.

Fury might’ve outboxed Wilder but when you get hit like he did you’re never the same. There’s no doubt in my mind that the promoters certainly don’t want it any time soon and neither does Fury. He’s clearly trying to rebuild his confidence.

I think when/if Fury and Wilder fight again then Fury will be even more reluctant to engage and it will be an absolute stinker until Wilder inevitably catches him and ends it.

There's a weird lack of wins against what you'd probably look at as the heavyweights who aren't among the absolute elite, but have at various times been people who would probably fit into the top ten.

Fury first entered the Ring top ten rankings himself in 2012. Other than Wlad he hasn't beaten anyone else who made that list. Some are still around today at a similar ranking, (Pulev, Povetkin), some have retired (Haye, Vitali), some have fallen away but are still active (Arreola, Helenius.) Those who have gone have ultimately been replaced at various stages by the likes of Parker, Whyte, Ortiz, Adamek, Chagaev, Solis, Jennings, Breazeale, Ruiz, Stiverne.

The point is that using something simple like the Ring rankings, Fury ends up appearing to be a guy who has beaten one top ten ranked opponent in his career.

Even now people will say “there’s no point taking a risk with the Wilder fight on the horizon”.

Wilder himself is fighting Ortiz who (regardless of age) is still widely regarded as a top 10 heavyweight!

There’s no excusing Wallin and it brings me back to the opening post, he doesn’t want to face a puncher any time soon.

Surely the bigger risk is taking on someone like Wallin and getting beat than losing against someone like Povetkin or Whyte? Admittedly Fury is more likely to win, but any slip up and his career looks in fairly bad shape.

There's just no obvious pattern to it. Fights against bang average top 20 ish opponents, then Klitschko. Makes the step up in a fight that, whilst absolutely minging as a spectacle was a clear and well deserved win. Now back to sub-Chisora nobodies.

Fury got back up and dominated the round, without that second knockdown Fury would now be WBC champ.

Not arguing against what you’re saying so you don’t have to get all argumentative...but he was signed to fight Haye and that was no fault of his own. Hammer wasn’t a bad win at the time and even at the back end of his career he’s took Povetkin and Ortiz the distance. The Chisora wins have aged well.

You’re right though, it’s not enough big names however we have to remember he essentially had 3 years out the game too. Not defending his recent opponents at all.

I see all the usual suspects are out assuming their regular positions.

The fact is Arum will not be risking his investment until after the Wilder fight or the Ruiz situation is fully resolved. It's called business and this is prizefighting.
