Lloyd Barnett, try as he might, never could beat Don Cokkell...but Lloyd beat the pants off Earl Walls. Knocking him down twice.

I see he was ko'd in 1 rd a few times but very early in his career when he was young and had a draw with James J. Parker near the end of his career, so he may have been discouraged

Walls beat much better fighters than Parker did, was much higher rated, and had the better resume and career by far.

I thought this article was very misinformed. However, i like the details of walls personal life. Moore ducking Walls is a joke

What about Lloyd Barnett though? Lloyd Nailed Walls to the floor twice but could not beat Donny C..

Bennett lost to Cokkell, beat Walls then lost to Cokkell. In that order!

Could not let this pass. Walls was 6'2 1/2" and usually weighed just over 14 stone at his best. For the Barnett fight he was a skinny 13 st 6 lbs. and was working for a manager who promoted him as the Canadian Cherokee Red Indian. Never mind the fact there were no Cherokees in Canada, the SOB was afraid to let on Walls was a "negro". Walls collapsed from hunger in the last round.

Walls weighed 188 1/2 for Barnett.

Walls weighed 186 1/2 for his second fight with Layne, one of his biggest wins.
