Did Emanuel Steward ever train a successful inside fighter?

Great trainer but everytime I think of his fighters I think of a tall fighter with a good jab and a good right hand. Why didn't he just clone Hearns?:p

Oliver McCall wasn't tall and under Steward achieved his biggest success of his career.

Oliver McCall was the exception but ordinarily that's his bread & butter (tall lanky fighters with a good jab). All trainers have a style that they specialize in.

The one that springs to mind for me is Gaby Canizales - was also briefly involved with Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike McCallum, Evander Holyfield and Jeff Fenech albeit their styles were clearlt established by the time Manny got on board

:patsch Crap I forgot about that he trained him and Chavez but I mean in the sense where he completely elevated their career too.

Manny prefer long reach fighters for jab and teaches them foot movement which makes things easier

I don't think Graciano Rocchigiani was all that shy on the inside.
