Manny Steward GAVE Wlad a career. Wlad was finished after those devastating KO losses. Manny devised a style where Wlad could be successful & hide his fragile chin It was boring as hell but it worked. Both Wlad & Lennox owe Manny a lot I know Lennox agrees & appreciates it don't know about Wlad :good

The young "destroyer" Wladimir, the one with epic stamina issues who got stopped by Ross Purrity and Corrie Sanders in his physical prime?

He didn't need tinkering. If he was to go on and become the long-reigning great that he has become, he needed an overhaul to maximize his talents and minimize his weaknesses. That is exactly what happened, to an extreme.

X amount of straight victories against his best competition later...

Wlad practically worshipped Stewart. Gives him respect and credit for his career success as often as possible.

Woad should of retired when Manny passed on or soon after though. His piston like jab has turned into a strange pawing/rangefinder for his right hand. After watching Wlad/Fury it is apparent he gave up punching altogether.

Wladimir definitely appreciates it. The speech he gave at Manny's funeral says it all.

There was more than just a fighter/trainer relationship there. Wladimir was also very deeply saddened by losing him and it showed.

To be fair, he never once faced an opponent quite like Fury during his streak with Steward. The attributes Fury possesses (in tandem with one another) outright befuddled Wlad last November.

This is compounded with the major intangibles, such as:

-the ring canvas being properly investigated (and adjusted accordingly for appropriateness and safety)

-Klitschko's handwrap inspection actually being overseen after a second attempt (still can't believe this almost slipped by) :bart

-Fury actually getting the nod from the judges as opposed to being snubbed by some "home cooking"

...^each of these things were profoundly important and any one of them could have changed the outcome of what "should have been" --by default-- a fair contest.
