Getting decked like that was not a dive, and it is not really possible to tell what state he was in on the ground. I would guess that he simply could not get up. Taking the mouth piece out is a natural knee jerk reaction.
Well he took some shots to get himself on the mat but why he took his mouth piece out as he layed his head down beats me. Maybe he was paid to stay down, and the couple shots he took was enough to call it a day in his mind.
The one fishy part is that Etienne takes out his mouthpiece after the knockdown and then lies there. Nonetheless, his fights with Oquendo and Botha suggest that his chin/head were THAT shitty to be knocked out in such a lackluster fashion.
Yep,he had a questionable chin and most likely it didn't take more than one flush right hand from Mike to take him down
Thats a bit semantic. The mouth piece gets taken out so not to obstruct the airway for health and safety reasons. The result of taking a blow that would render a boxer comatose naturally means that anything in his mouth must be removed. Etienne simply got knocked out and took his gumshield out as he had no intention of continuing after taking such a huge blow. He didnt take a dive but he certainly quit.
If anyone took a dive against Tyson it was that idiot Bruce Seldon. The breeze from Mikes punch didnt even catch that fool.
Interestingly,it was more of a case that Etienne took a dive.Another guy that Tyson didn't even touch was Carl Williams who was just scared shitless.
Eh? Have you even seen that fight? Mike hit Carl with a hellacious left hook after slipping Carls punch. Carl subsequently was sent flying across the ring into a sack against the ropes. The ref waved it off as his legs were very unsteady and he surely would have taken even permanent damage if Mike had been given a chance to finish him properly.
