They never fought one another and I hate to think that Holyfield purposely avoided Bruno. Bruno was a technically sound hard puncher.

I don’t ever recall a discussion being on the table and if you look at the time lines of their careers, peaks, and intermittent periods of absence ( which they both had ) their paths never really crossed

Why would Holyfield duck him? Frank had already challenged for the title a year before Holyfield won it. There was a very limited window in which they could've fought.

Oh I remembered someone saying that Holyfield didn't want any of Bruno back in the early 90s.

Holyfield would only have been interested in Bruno as a stepping stone and Frank wasn't available at that point. He was recovering from his challenge to Mike Tyson. Otherwise they were on entirely different paths.

I never heard that and I was following the scene pretty closely in those days. After losing to Tyson in 1989 Bruno didn’t return to the ring until 1991 and didn’t build himself back into contention until 1993 at which point holy was locked up with Bowe and Lennox best Frank. Not long after Evander left the sport and Frank lost in the final fight of his career to Tyson in 95. I don’t see where these guys career paths ever crossed

Would of been an interesting evening.Bruno hit hard and had an excellent jab but holly normally found a way to win .a similar night to the steward fight I think with Vander winning late after being stung a few times .

Holyfield fought Lewis twice, Tyson twice, Bowe three times but the one guy he was too scared to take on was Frank Bruno...

When was he supposed to fight Bruno? Frank kept losing knocking himself down the rankings, Holy would have battered him, he was far more skilled and proven.
