Roy Jones:good He was **** scared of Roy and would not fight him. Roy would have made him look like the slow dinosaur that he is, if he had fought Roy after the Ruiz fight.
Hmm....Tyson was at his peak in 1988, when Holyfield moved up from cruiserweight to heavyweight. Holyfield works his way up the heavyweight ranks in the next couple years or so. Holyfield was ringside in Tokyo in Feb 1990 when Tyson lost to Douglas, trying to mask his dissapointment that he wouldn't fight Tyson, since the fight between the 2 was set to occur after Tyson got thru Douglas. Holyfield beats Douglas for the title, defends against Foreman, then signs to fight Tyson in Nov 1991. Tyson pulls out with an injury.
I'm fairly certain that Don King was going to take about 3mil off the top of Holyfields fight purse to fight Jones........ ......but I also found an old article that points to Holyfield signing to fight James Toney, and it has a mention of the Holyfield-Jones negotiations breaking off because Holyfield refused to let Don King have options on his next three fights if he were to beat Jones. Apparently Holyfield did'nt want to get tied down with Don King and passed on the Roy Jones fight. Here's the link....... http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/1111/how-does-end-evander/
Its true, Holyfield wanted away from King just as most fighters do once they start counting their money and finding it missing.
