Did everybody catch Nishioka's one punch KO of Gonzalez for the WBC 122lb strap?

Obviously havent seen him against Sahaprom then...

Im not sure what he is overall like now..I havent seen him go the 12 since then..But Garcia and Kiatisakchokai are no bums.

 

Square on the chin, that was total picture perfect KO punch.

 

I would absolutely ruin that Ring Card Girl. And yeh, the knockout was 'aight.

 

saw it live sat on some spanish channel. Nice knockout for sure. You could kind of see it coming from the first round on tho since johnny couldnt seem to avoid the straight left.

on a side note, HBO and american boxing broadcasts can learn a thing or two from this spanish broadcast. It seems like any shot they had on screen that wasn't two men beating each other had at least one of those corona ring girls in it, which was a great choice by whoever put the program on. I mean, hell each fighter before and after the fight would have one to either side of them.....even then announcer got his own girl for a couple of shots. Nice.

Nishioka did a tremendous job at this time. Having seen his fights, this was his best performance so far. And it was good to Japanese boxing fan too.

Teiken Promotion lost to bid, letting Nishioka fight in Mexico, which led to this win.
Let's see how Teiken promotion do for Nishioka next becasue they didn't expect him to win that way

BTW: Hasegawa will make the next defense of his title in Japan. I hope Nishioka's win over Gonzalez push him to fight outside of Japan.

Hozumi is for real, hope he'll have a chance to fight guys like Montiel, Darchinyan, Mijares etc.

With this win, Nishioka gets some recognition in Mexico,hopefully in the U.S.

I am not sure where Hasegawa will go, but I hope he finds a way to fight outside of Japan.

 

That punch sequence looks an awful lot like the one that got Darchinyan ko'd vs N. Donaire. Dude even does the same windup before throwing the left! Pretty slick move by Nishioka to trap/parry the jab. If only Gonzalez threw a counter hook instead the outcome might have been very different...

 

just one punch and gonzales is gone...he should reconsider his fighting style

 

Actually u're right, I beleive both him and Juanma will move up soon, so he
may have himself a real reign, specially considering Vasquez and Marquez already moved up

I'd like to see him vs. Molitor, that would be an interesting fight...
