    * Protected by Frank Warren for years

    * Fouled his way to victory against KT

    * Unimpressive ever since

    Did this Witter ducking fat boy peak years ago?

    Hatton still has some fights left in him. I do think he lost a lot of his prime fighting the Stewarts and Oliveiras of the world though. Thats Frank Warren for you...

    That was undoubtedly his physical and mental peak

    He had everything to gain and nothing to lose. Now he has loads of money and exposure

    He was younger, and the pints "with the lads" hadn't caught up with him

    Ok you got me there, it was a hell of a shot. I still think Hatton has been in decline for years.

    Wow, it seems like folks are now trying to diminish PBF's victory by sayin Hatton wasn't prime.

    Maybe he just wasn't good enough to beat PBF? :roll:

    No not trying to take anything away from Floyd. I'm not saying he's slipped that far but he's definitely gone backwards since KT.

    I think Hatton just got KT at the right time and it made it seem like a more impressive victory than it actually was (not that it wasn't impressive ... but that Tszyu was a shadow of his former self)

    But don't take my word for it, Graham himself said after the fight 'No rematch, we got Tszyu at the right time.'

    Tszyu's own trainer said 'I told him to retire after Mitchell 2, he was getting old. We were an old fighter tonight.'

    It was Tszyu's last fight ever. If he had anything left he would have come back. He still had one fight left on his showtime contract which he had to pay out to leave.

    Right place, right time, right ref, right rules, right amount of money to lure a fighter who has lost motivation into the ring agreeing to these conditions.

    And Castillo? Come on. The man was beyond shot, he was swiss cheese by the time Hatton got to him.

    Two victories that elevated Hatton to a status that was achieved through smart decisions rather than pure talent. Props to him and his team for that, absolutely. But the guy that fought Mayweather wasn't far off the guy that fought Tszyu. It's just the opponent was prime and the ref didn't allow dodgy tactics. Thus, different result.

    I wonder if Cortez had reffed the Tszyu fight would have it been different? Maybe ....
