    ...Not.

And who knows if he had the potential, the point is he didn't have the heart to do it.

Casa wanted no parts ... Johnston had already lost to Castillo (twice) ... and Tszyu wanted no parts in addition to him being a showtime fighter and Mayweatherr being an HBO fighter.

When Cotto retires are we going to use the fact that Floyd Mayweather wanted no part of him when determining how high he even rates? No right? Maybe if Floyd liked to call fighters out a bit more and used his loud mouth that he used recently (all for the wrong reasons) than maybe he would have been in some more meaningful fights that would have escalated his ranking.

yes i think he had the potential, he did a long run as a 130 lber and establish himself as one of the best 130lbers all time. There are a bunch of notable names he could have fought plus the fact that he rarely fights and retiring while still at prime is also a plus. Right now he is a top 50 ATG for sure on most peoples list. He's got great defense that would let him still have a long career and would not hurt himself in the ring so yes he has more potential.

I personally think that if he keeps fighting and i say fight often like 3-4 times a year, not 2x or 1x and fight till about age 36 he'd go down as top 10 or perhaps the best.

A list of few names example of who he could have fought during his career and would have a decent chance of beating them and would have been favoured

hamed, frietas, casamayor, KT, witter, mosley, cotto, margarito, and even guys at 154 i believe he could have won against.

Nah, he didn't. Floyd was talented, but not to such a high degree as this would indicate.

He is probably around #40-50 ATG if we are being objective and do not buy into all the cherrypicking. That is of course still wildly good.

    exactly:good

mayweather cannot be considered one of the greatest because people would not fight him. floyd didnt do enough to make those fights happen, had he forced the fights and beaten many top WW then a better arguement could have been made.
