A BIG YES, he did because Floyd knows no way can Marquez beat him after the 2nd round. He wanted to please the crowd and make a statement about his skills as a boxer.
Nah, i think he was trying to close the show late. But didnt wanna overdo it and get caught with something.
I think, he knows he has had hand problems, so thought as he was so far ahead whats the point of potentially injuring himself to prove a point
He also said that he needed rounds and wanted to go late. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/columns/story?columnist=rafael_dan&id=4488605
If he really wanted to impress the crowd, he should've annihilated Marquez but he FAILED to do so. The answer is NO.
man if he actually tried and just couldn't do it, i don't know what to say. that doesn't make any sense. that means either mayweather is a hell of a lot weaker than everyone thinks or he just really can't knock a guy out. if he tried to knock out jmm and couldn't, i know why he won't fight a true welterweight.
some say he carried Marquez, but I just think Floyd wasn't yet ready, after a 2 year layoff, to really commit to the knockout. He wanted to let the fight come to him and he got into his rhythm and he didn't want to break it. He definitely landed some STIFF shots on Marquez so he was hitting him pretty good, but Marquez is a gritty guy.
yeah but not many of those were put together as combinations designed to hurt an opponent. he was just throwing one shot at a time like he didn't want to get caught by a guy who obviously couldn't hurt him. i just don't understand that.
