yeah because Floyd doesn't take risks like other fighters, he's satisfied with the victory over a knockout ... he never leaves himself open for unneccessary punishment and doesn't care about pleasing the crowd as much he is about winning.

Roger wanted Floyd to go for the KO but Floyd didn't because he was more concerned in getting rounds in ...

I for one was pretty sure after the 6th round that Floyd was NOT trying to KO him.

It crossed my mind that he was looking to get extra rounds in.

A knockout could of been a bad tactical move, since it would be easy to say he was a bully to the much smaller man?......this way he may have just concealed what level his real power is at?

But on the other hand, he could say he did what pacman failed to do by stopping Marquez if he had pressed for the KO.

Like others have said....Marquez is one tough SOB so who knows 100% if a fighter like Floyd who usually fights 2 divisions higher could have stopped him. :huh

Hell no, at one point, after the kd id I remember correctly. Floyd very visibly went in for the kill but got caught with two left hooks. He slowed his attack at that point. So judging by this, no.

I just watched the fight. I think he definitely did hold back. I mean if he REALLY wanted too, he could've taken JMM out. JMM offered nothing that could hurt PBF. And PBF knew it from round 1 on. He just decided to play it safe and on occassion, make it look like he was pressing but he really wasn't.

No, he certainly tried but JMM's defense was just good enough to avoid most of his lead pot shots in the later rounds. Maybe Floyd would've KOed him if he threw more combinations but since moving up to 147, Floyd doesn't do that.

when he Knocked him down, I remember thinking that any other first class fighter would climb all over him like a cheap suit...but he didnt press that advantage.

Marquez in an interview said Mayweather was faster than he thought, but not as strong as he thought. Marquez never been KO'd. He didn't even look hurt after the 2nd round knockdown. Marquez = world class chin.

    No.

Marquez was able to take the punches well, you can see after the knockdown Mayweather kept throwing more and more, Marquez was just too determined to go down again.

Mayweather did press, what were you watching?

He pressed him IMMEDIATELY after the ref finished counting and allowed them to continue, Marquez immediately countered and wasn't there to be knocked down again and actually LANDED a solid shot to make Mayweather think twice if he had finishing in plan.

No one has KOed Marquez. The guy is a warrior. Mayweather probably tried to and wasn`t able.

I think he did try! But he's such a defensive fighter, he didnt want to take the full risk of going balls out on offense

Of course he didn't hold back. He was landing some bombs through the fight.
This wasn't no pitter patter 'I'll carry this guy the distance' bull****.

He didn't want to take the risk necessary to go for the KO.

    What else is new ?
