During the fight, I fought Floyd had some injury. Before round 5, he was dominating Cotto. After, he was more competitive.
I think someone said it like a week or so before the fight, but nothing was confirmed by Mayweather's camp. Some say they didn't want to admit to give Cotto a mental advantage, this is the reason Mayweather's camp now says they didn't say it before. I've not heard how bad the injury was, if it was just pain or a something an xray/mri would show.. I have nothing to go off of to say it's true or not.. So I'm not going to go around saying his hand was hurt and that had anything to do with his performance.. Just don't see any evidence to make me believe so..
There were rumors before the fight and he said before the fight too! It don't really matter it didn't affect his performance
I heard the same rumours about a week before the fight. Floyd denied it, but someone close to his team said it was true. It didn't look hurt in the fight, though. He threw way too many left-hands with power and authority.
Exacly... He threw less right hands than normal and worked the jab and left hooks... So left hand is hurt but uses it more? bs. For me that proves it wasn't hurt during the fight... unless he pumped it with xylocaine then took his glove off and finds out his wrist has turned to swollen jello.
he hurt it before the fight and I guess re-injured it in the fight. I don't want to give any excuses though for the fight.
