Thats only true when he moved to 154 to fight Oscar.
Cause when he moved to 140 he fought Corley,Brusseles and Gatti i know some consider Gatti to be a big fight but not me,next he moved up to 147 and fought Mitchell,Judah and Bladomir neither fight was a big fight, the big fight came next when he moved to 154 to face Oscar.

Where is Gabriel Montoya option? :)

But seriously he ducked a more resonable amount of jail time.

It was his first PPV fight and for the most money he had made thus far, it was against a household name and it was the fight the propelled him into the limelight, it was a big fight.

He then moved up to LWW and fought two eliminators to fight the champion Gatti, he did not move up for the purpose of fighting Brussells

He moved up for the first time in his career to fight the champion at lightweight - Castillo - big fight

He moved up to WW to face the champion Judah, had a tuneup with Mitchell & Judah had one with Baldomir, Judah ended up losing. Regardless it was a big fight

Floyd then moved up for Oscar - big fight

He then moved up again for the champion Cotto - big fight

With a few tune-up exceptions, Floyd only fights 'big fights', whether financially or in terms of ranking. And that's the only reason he moves up, not because he becomes too big for the weight. He could possibly still fight at 140.

Regardless of who ducked who, Floyd missed out on TOO many high profile fighters since he left 130. Guys like:
    Joel Casamayor
    Paul Spad
    Kostya Tszyu
    Acelino Freitas
    Steve Johnson
    Paul Williams
    Antonio Margarito
    Cotto (@ 147)
Shane (sooner then the spent Shane he fought)
    Manny Pac
So it doesn't matter who duckerd who, what will be asked is WHY so many of his contemporary peers did he not fight?

Margarito was the only one he avoided, but he beat mosley instead that beat margarita.

He moved from 135 because according to him, nobody wanted to fight him there. So he moved to 140 to fight Gatti, Hatton or Tzyu.

Then he moved up again in weight to 147 to fight Oscar, Mosely, Judah ect.

That's why he was small for 140 and small for 147, because he moved up for bigger fights, not for weight issues.

"According to him." Highly doubtful. He's always had options available to him. Just not the high profile fights he wanted or thought he deserved.

He didn't duck nobody , period . He chose the best options in terms of wise money fights and top-known ranked fighters. :yep

If he will fight with Sergio at 154 ( if Sergio wins against Chavit ) , the word "ducking" in the same sentence with the name of Floyd Mayweather jr will be almost "a blasphemy" :yep:deal

Low risk, high reward is always his first preference. That perfect combination is not always available to him, but that's always his first preference.

either way at the time, he had more lucrative fights at 140 and 147, so that's why he moved up.

    and Floyd addresses it here
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q61X2mK87gw&feature=player_detailpage#t=426s

"I've asked to fight these guys in the past. I've been asking for Lazcano, Freitas, Casamyaor, these guy don't want to fight me. So I'm moving up to bigger and better things"

Again...his saying he "Asked for them" means very little. WTH is he going to say? Anwyay, like I said, doesn't matter who ducked who, what will be asked is WHY so namy top names around Floyd did he not fight? That's what's going to hurt him, and that's what's been asked already in several articles on Floyd's career.

Boxing's a business and the most dangerous one. I can't expect every fighter to be willing to go to war every time, moving up division after division and ending up messed up at the end of his career. It's up to the fighter to make that choice. If they do, I'll admire their courage, but if they don't I'll understand.
