Did Floyd Mayweather Jr. say he was better than Sugar Ray Robinson?

before the Hatton fight ???

he said Robinson, ali etc.. have doen there parts for the sport now its my turn

and people read taht to him suggesting he was better than them (when hes actually saying hes the equal of them)

 

Mayweather hasnt been beaten yet. It will be interesting to see his place in history once its all said and done. If he faces and beats the winner of pac Cotto fight thats certainly going to enhance his legacy, but he has a loooong way to go to catch Robinson. Dont even think he has enough time left in his career, especially as often as he fights.

 

i think it means it more in an era sense IMO

that Ray Robinson was great in his era, ali in his etc.. and im great in mine

 

Hold up there, GPater. Mayweather said he was a more complete fighter than Muhammad Ali, and he recently said to RA Rugged on that crazy interview that he'll be remembered as the greatest of all time. :good I ain't no Floyd hater, but he's guilty as sin on this one.

Seriously though, I think Rugged goes 'You could be remembered as the greatest of all time bro", in which Floyd responses hastely, "I am" ...Rugged: "That's bull****! ...Bull****" Then Rugged brought up Ray Robinson.

We don't have to get technical about it though, Floyd shouldn't be talking in that manner to begin with. He hasn't done enough to make it acceptable. These guys fought everybody, Mayweather ain't even of the Leonard and Whitaker variety, let alone Robinson and Ali, my respective 1 and 2.

 

He supposedly said he was better than Robinson, tho I personally havent heard him say this.

He isnt better than Robinson tho, no fighter was, period.
