Did Floyd Mayweather make any new fans last night..?

And why not? I know he hasn't got the best record, but it's better than what some people give it credit for.

 

I cannot believe that there are true boxing fans who are just coming around to appreciating his skills.

Mayweather has always been super talented he hasn`t just become super talented last night.

If the Brits had their blinkers off and watched the Hatton fight for what it was instead of finding excuses for Wicky and blaming Cortez they would have realised then how good Mayweather is.

If you are a fan of boxing and appreciate technical ability you would have always admired Mayweathers skills. If you are just a fan of certain fighter for example Hatton or Froch you will never appreciate another boxers technical ability until it slaps you in face and you cannot ignore it.

 

Its better than the snobs on here give it credit for but not as good as the casuals give it credit for. That fair ?

Whilst im not a massive fan of his, he went up again in my estimation.

Rocked badly and on the verge of defeat in the 2nd round, got himself together and completly dominated Mosley and if he wanted i think he could have stopped him in the latter rounds.

Also i was very suprised at how strong Mayweather was up close. IMO he was the stronger man and he was hitting just as hard as Shane.

Great overall card imo.

 

A mate of mine tried saying that Calzaghe was the best British boxer ever after five a side on Monday - because he was undefeated.

Oh, and Lewis was glass chinned and never beat anyone decent.... I was ready to kill him.

 

A bloke i know has already gone on record to me saying the Khan that beat Kotelnik would beat the Tszyu that beat Rodriguez.

And since then he has said that Carl Froch has a better jab than Carlos Monzon, and Monzon was a bum who never fought anyone unlike Froch. Oh and Froch will end up higher ranked in the All Time rankings:fire

Amazing not sure Khan can beat McCloskey, Nigel Wright and Lenny Daws. Next thing we will be told that Khan is kicking Pacman arse in sparring sessions.

I approach Floyd with some degree of ambivalence. His skills are incredible, his commitment and preparation are inspiring, and his poise in the ring is next to no-one right now.

The reality is that he makes for fights devoid of excitement. That's testament to his abilities, but this along with his poor opposition and attitude makes him hard to love.

I'll always watch his fights, because he's a true elite and a very special talent, but I don't think I'll ever be able to get behind him the way I do with Cotto. It says a lot when the only exciting moment was Shane nearly knocking him senseless, which turned out to be Sugar's last hurrah.

No, that's nothing to do with it. It's just that Floyd has been so risk averse that it's been hard to really judge him.
