Did Floyd Mayweather make any new fans last night..?

Cotto was never in Floyd's league truth be known and I'm sorry to say it, hasn't lived up to the hype - still, a very decent fighter though.

 

Cotto is not in Floyd's league I'm sorry.

 

Have to disagree there....there was a point in time when this would've been a very close,brilliant contest.

 

Apart from the first couple of rounds, the Pac (a guy Floyd is favourite to beat) fight was a non contest - a total non event. Margo a limited fighter technically, beat him down. He was hardly convincing against Berto.

I like Cotto, love watching him fight, but he was on that cusp of becoming great and he didn't make the next step up.

At this moment in time, he will not go down as an ATG, Floyd will. As I said, he is not in Floyd's league - I don't think that, that is such an outlandish statement to make.

 

Nobody who can fight and I mean really fight need be wary of Margarito. Only people who bought into Bob Arum's hype were wary of Margarito. All he needed to do was keep winning and his time would come against PBF but instead he got intimidated by Paul Williams who I understand use to kick his arse in sparring sessions and did so under the bright lights when they fought and Shane Mosley did a job on the cheat properly doing boxing a service. It still annoys me that Cotto lost to Margarito of all the people.

Hatton certainly knew what he was doing taking that one, an immediate unification rather than the traditional British route of three very soft defences
