Do forget Loma, Beterbiev and Bivol. Guys been pros for years and fight infrequently. Beterbiev has 15 fights and 35 years old and a top LHW. Why Bivol and him haven't fought yet?

Floyd Mayweather damaged the African American fighter with his boring style more than anything else.

No because he did good PPV numbers. That being said he made fighters scared to take risks because they want to keep their little "0" even though it doesn't mean **** if you haven't fought a live opponent that actually trained and showed up to beat you.

You mentioned Crawford. Wasn't it suspected that Arum did the same to him? Once Crawford left Arum, the Spence fight was made.

The biggest PPVs in the history of the sport were Floyd Mayweather's PPVs. He broke all the records set by Tyson and Holyfield.

Everyone talked about Floyd Mayweather then.

Everyone knows who he is now.

I have no idea where you're getting this.

In fact, the success of Floyd Mayweather is how Al Hayman was able to get boxing back on national network television in the U.S. in 2015. It had essentially been off the national airwaves for 30 years before that.

Not just him, but definitely he's a big part..
I feel Mayweather, Arum, Oscar and Haymon in no particular order ruined US boxing.
Floyd for ducking fights when they matter
    Arum for letting fights marinate
    Oscar for being a Premadonna
And Haymon for oversaturating the market with overpaid mediocre fighters

First of all, between Oscar and Floyd, they fought freaking EVERYONE. They were both huge stars. They didn't "hurt" the sport at all. They carried it, if nothing else, during lean years.

What hurt boxing in the US had nothing to do with the above.

The problem was the greatest fighter ever being a stumbling mute by the time he turned 45. If Tyson Fury and Joshua end up like Ali by the time they're 45, you'll see what a damper it puts on the game in Europe.

Nobody wants their kids to take up boxing when the very best of them end up like that.

Also, no one came up behind Tyson and Holfyield and Bowe after they peaked because the US Amateur program was in complete shambles.

By the 1990s, the US Olympic representatives at heavyweight weren't even boxing when the previous Olympics were held. Dannell Nicholson represented the US in 1992 and Nate Jones represented the US in 1996, and both watched boxing in prison during the previous Olympics and decided to take up the sport while sitting in their cells. And the 2000 representative, Calvin Brock, learned to box by ordering HOW TO BOX videos in the mail.

And they ALL made the team.

Hell, Wilder took up boxing in his 20s to care for his daughter. Or he wouldn't even be around.

That's not how you grow a steady stream of future greats.

The top US fighters now, Spence, Haney, Stevenson, were all guys who started as kids and came up through the amateur program. Like Mayweather did. Like Andre Ward did.

That's how it has to be done.

Out of the top ten highest grossing pay per view fights Floyd has five of them. Five. Half. Fifty perecnt.

So why does Floyd have the top five highest PPV matches? Who are these millions of people ordering his every single fight if he turned away boxing fans?

I am a little confused... I mean if you order a boxing fight aren't you a boxing fan? If only a casual but still. Are you trying to say he turned away hardcore fans?

Did you adjust it for inflation? Money was worth less in Floyd's time than in Mike Tyson's day.
He was heavily marketed by the media. But I've talked to people who were conned by the media hype to buy the PPVs, but were terribly disappointed when they watched his fights and swore they would never again buy a boxing PPV.

Five million households paid $100 per PPV in the US ALONE to watch Mayweather's highest selling PPV.

And if each household was like the one I was in, there were at least a half dozen to a dozen people in each home watching.

Saying Floyd Mayweather killed boxing in the US is laughable.

Fans WISH there were events that big right now. Maybe we'll finally get some once all these divisions get one recognizable champion.

Having six champs in some divisions, three being WBA champs, doesn't help.

Mike Tyson's PPVs were $30. And he didn't sell five million PPVs in the US for any one fight.

    You're way off base.
