When he decided against having sponsorship deals? Now hear me out... I know he made TONS without them. I know he became very popular without them. But... No sports star ever became unpopular because of them! Gillette, Coca Cola etc - If Floyd would have had a deal with brands like that he'd have made MILLIONS as well. Easy $50 mill. Easy. Tiger Woods made TONS of cash by having sponsors. As did Beckham and Federer. Hell, look at Jordan! He makes just as much as Floyd does a year (swear he made $90 mill last year!?!) and will be making a fortune until he dies from his "Jordan" range. His career has long been gone and he still rakes in multi-millions a year because of his shoe deal.
