I know, I don't really pay attention to that though. It's like you call in sick for work when you aren't sick. You do it all the time, but then you actually get sick and your boss doesn't believe you...and you get sacked. It's very similar to this. I know Hopkins has faked/overplayed injuries in the past. But the injury against Dawson looked very much legitimate.

I get what you mean about the shark fin now anyway. I know a little about the shoulder, and the injuries you can suffer. This must have been what you meant, but there is also 3 different types of shoulder separation...Type III the one I assume you are referring to...

If you look how Hopkins falls with an outstretched arm, sudden impact, stiff shoulder. The injury can very much be legit...and I believe him :conf

 

If mayweather was looking for a way out he would have pretended to be knocked out by the head butt.

I agree, he avoided Dawson, but Dawson did even less than Ortiz in that bout to convince Hopkins to "fake his way out".

Some idiots on here seem to equate Ortiz throwing wildly and landing very little with Mayweather not being in control.

Floyd's been in way worse than another fighter backing him up a bit and throwing a bunch of missing punches. That's what happens in Mayweather fights. A fighter gets a spurt going, the crowd goes crazy, HBO commentators yell as if the opponent is "ripping him up against the ropes", meanwhile nothing is landing, then Floyd eventually regains control and restarts his patient counter punching.

Hopkins' injury was proven to be legitimate by the doctor, Floyd clearly had a busted bottom lip from the headbutts. Tell me what clean punch landed to cause that bust?

 

Did Floyd "pull a Hopkins?" Well, he showed superb ring IQ, something Hopkins is oft given credit for and associated with, so yeah I'd say he pulled a Hopkins.
