Be a shell of his former self like he was 5 years ago before deciding to fight him? He waited years for Mosley to get past it before fighting him. I think he's doing it now with Cotto. Five years from now when PAC is way way way past it Floyd will fight him. :smoke

Nah, he's fighting him because he is running out of options. and it's an easier fight than Martinez.

Floyd like to talk a whole lot of **** about how he deserves more than 65% against Pac and how he is making more fighting Cotto but the truth is, Pac is the only viable opponent left out there.

That has never stopped Floyd avoiding a man like the plague in the past though e.g. Cotto.

Cotto has said himself that he never pursued a fight with Floyd and never spoke to Bob Arum about a potential fight with him, and Floyd was calling out Shane years before they fought but Shane said he had a toothache and was going on a family vacation, so no, Floyd did not wait for Mosley to "get past it". He fought a still dangerous looking Shane coming off a brutal betadown of the piece of **** who brutally raped Cotto (a fight that Manny and his team were unwilling to make) and now he's fighting Cotto at 154 (another fight that Manny and his team were unwilling to make, even at 150).

Im not being controversial but I dont think he's slowed to much. Your only as good as your last fight and i thought he looked quick against Margarito last time out, showing lots of feints and good movement.

Dont get me wrong i never bet against Floyd as hes one of the best ever but Cotto will give him fits at times but lose on pts. IMO

    Excellent fight coming up!

No, Cotto is such a warrior, he wanted to fight the best Possible Floyd, while letting himself get beaten up twice. So, he actually waited for Floyd to get better, then fight him.

Cotto is a god among boxers. :hi:

"Pac" isn't even the biggest challenge out there, much less the only viable opponent. I'd much rather see Mayweather-Martinez than the inevitable one sided schooling that Floyd would put on "Pac", and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Cotto had never fought at 150 in his entire career before Pac ... why the **** would he meet him at 150?

No one cares about Floyd - Martinez outside of boxing fans. If you put a poll up on HBO right now of who everyone wants Floyd to fight next .. who do you think would top that list by a huge margin?

If he did, he may have missed the boat, because he looked sharper and more complete in his last outing than he has in years.

Because Pacquiao has (against Margocheato for his 154lb title) and Cotto is now fighting and holding a strap at 154 and would probably have to kill himself to make 147 at this point.

Floyd can make $40 million fighting no-hopers like Ortiz (just did) so if we're talking money wise, there are a ton of viable opponents out there for him. If we're talking about him taking on the biggest challenges, Martinez looks like a good option.
