With Floyd you just never know? You don't hear that type of thing being said about Cotto because theres simply no reason to. However, Bob Arum has obviously exposed himself, especially as of late in shelving and protecting all of his favorite fighters. This is what Floyd has claimed all along and I really don't know what to believe? The only blatant duck I will always hold against him was Margarito.

And instead of fighting that sack of **** for $8 million and staying with Top Stank, he decided to buy himself out of his contract so he could pursue a $25 million payday against DLH (a fight that Uncle Bob wouldn't even entertain the idea of). In retrospect, it was probably the smartest thing he ever did.

i still say the reason for Cotto Vs Floyd not being made till now is Bob Arum, I strongly believe he is the reason the floyd-pac fight will never be made either...

I think the fact that he saw first hand what he did to Gatti, Cotto prolly went straight to Bob Arum and said "I'm cool off this guy."

Cotto's a warrior but the guys that he's beaten are guys who can't fight backing up. I think Cotto is a tough customer but the way to beat him is to possess superior boxing skills. I don't think this is a close match whether it happened after the Gatti fight or now.

I agree, smartest decision he ever made, but still has to be looked at for what it was. A duck for whatever the reason I believe Marg before being destroyed by other fighters would have gave Floyd a tough night. Marg is a cheat, but was a relentless in his pursuit.

its alread known that a Mayweather fight was offered to Cotto in 05, Cottos team felt he wasnt ready cant blame em. as for 2008-present, how exactly would u have pictured negotiations going Floyd and Cotto, an Arum fighter, in 2008?

Arum will not do buisness with Floyd so how could Floyd have fought cotto? Floyd had just left Top Rank and made big money with DLH and GBP. u think Arums gonna welcome Floyd back with open arms after that? hell no, he would tell floyd to go **** himself. he doesnt want to give a penny to floyd, he wants to keep the money in house.

isnt it funny how as soon as Cotto leaves Top Rank how fast Mayweather Vs. Cotto was able to be made? open your eyes *******s. when it comes down to it, Arum is the problem.

Troll thread. Floyd is not exactly in prime either. Arum wouldn't dare to put Cotto against Floyd in the past. Cotto in the past = too green, poor stamina, and weight drained. Cotto present = Better skillset, better stamina, and not weight drained but yes he has suffered two defeats.

floyd has impeccable timing really. look at when he fought mosley and now cotto. now he would do the same to pac and martinez once both slowed down and is damaged enough while floyd takes long vacations to preserve himself.

Agree. Martinez vs Ward would be better.

No he did not. Cotto is more game at 154 than he was at 147 (145). Cotto is stronger, and faster at 154. He can also eat full meals the week of the fight, instead of not eating for the last 3 days.

Margorito was just too slow for Floyd, even with his cement. Please bringing of Marg, he was a cheat and got exposed, he was never a good fighter.

He fought the Mosley that "Pac" shamelessly ducked before he had back to back **** performances and he's now fighting Cotto in his own weightclass after Manny was scared to even fight him at 150. *******s have no room to talk about careful matchmaking.... Absolutely none. :bart

LOL. Floyd been boxing since he was 2 and had long extensive Amatuer background while pac and cotto did not and somehow he is waiting for them to slow down even though Cotto and pac are younger.:rofl

Floyd tried to get a fight with Mosley in 1999 and in 2006 and both times it was Mosley who declined. So if anyone has any grips as to why those fights didn't come off sooner then it should be blamed on Shane.

    :deal

Floyd was trying to fight Cotto back in 2005 and Arum called it premature and Cotto's camp publicly stated that he wasn't ready.
