There should be a middle option that says `Yes but only after he fought MP` You cant expect to get realistic answers from posters when you limit the options like that.
Berto could've easily had the fight pushed back to April. If the fight is rescheduled for April, how the hell would Mosley have time to fight Mayweather in the interim? They were talking about having Mayweather fight Mosley before Berto pulled out of the fight. With Berto not being able to fight in January, it created a perfect opportunity to make the much bigger fight which is Mayweather vs. Mosley. Why risk having Mosley possibly losing to Berto or getting hurt and ruining the fight with Mayweather if you don't have to? Again, Berto is not going throw away his big opportunity like that if he's not getting something in return.
No he wanted the fight that was going to make him 40 million dollars.. Now he he just has to beat up on Mosley and silence a bunch of critics..
Floyd called out Shane as late as 2006. In fact, he fought Baldo only after Shane turned him down. Look at who he fought after that and before he retired; Hoya and Hatton. Those were easily his two biggest paydays. After his retirement, he took a tuneup fight and then went after Pac who represented the largest fight out there for him. Now he's fighting Mosley, who's the next biggest fight out there for him. I don't think it's a coincidence that Shane only wanted to fight him after he saw what a big time draw Floyd is, and it's no coincidence that Floyd is going after Shane again when Shane represents his biggest payday. I'm sorry Charlie, but to me it makes no sense that Floyd would want to fight a young, prime, active Shane and not want to fight a an older, past his best, inactive Shane. Maybe that makes sense to you though.
i believe mayweather was under pressure to take a big fight with the pacquiao bout falling through i still think manny would pose more problems than shane but if sugars long lay off hasnt effected him this one floyd v sugar promises to be fire works watch this space.
Paulie and Nate as well but he caught TOO MUCH **** for those names which is why when Shane became available he had to jump at it to silence the folks trashing him for not taking on a real WW. Shane was a perfect way to one up PAC who was facing a real WW in Josh.
At the same time, you could say Pac only went after Josh after the public shitted all over his attempts to fight Paulie and Foreman. And Matthew Hatton was never an option for Floyd. That **** was thrown out of left field.
Back in 2006... I'm talking about more recently brah. More recently Shane was pretty much begging for a fight with Floyd and he didn't want to hear anything about it. But you make a valid point....it's just I don't see Floyd being serious about fighting a real WW aside from Blado...and Yes...Shane turned him down and he faught Carlos...but there were far more meaningful fights at WW that he could have went for that was more challenging that Baldo. I really don't think Floyd cared about fighting Shane b/c the risk didn't outweigh the reward. Shane said he did want to fight Floyd but it was right after his fight and Shane working with DLH knew that DLH was going to go after Floyd....so there was a reason behind Shane not accepting the fight with Floyd immediately.
Actually Foreman wasn't a bad choice for most, considering PAC would have to move up to an 8th weight class and Paulie was mentioned as a fight at Jr WW where PAC should be anyway. Matt Hatton was a option for Floyd and his camp contact Matt seeing if he'd be available for a fight like that.
I didn't know there was a "if this fight gets cancled we will fight in April" clause in the contract. Once Berto bails, the existing contract is null and void and Berto doesn't have the power to push anything back to April.
for the mentally challenged and idiots who twist floyds words around..HE WANTED THE FIGHT..IF HE DIDN'T WANT THE FIGHT HE WOULD HAVE FOUGHT SAUL ALVAREZ..THERE IS THIS BIG DEBATE OUT HOW FLOYD "DUCKS" FIGHTERS AND HE DON'T CARE FOR HIS FANS RIGHT? WELL THAN HE DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE MOSLEY FIGHT BUT HE IS.. I SEE WHAT YOUR SAYING BUT ITS STUPID...UR SUGGESTING FLOYD TOOK THE FIGHT CUZ HE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE AND HE WOULD LOOK STUPID FIGHTING ANYONE OTHER THAN MANNY OR MOSLEY...THE THING IS ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS...FLOYD BEEN CALLIN OUT SHANE FOR YEARS IF U DIDN'T NOTICE...IT WASN'T UNTIL THE LAST TIME IN 2006 WHEN SHANE TURNED FLOYD DOWN THAT FLOYD WASN'T TRYING TO GET THE SHANE FIGHT ANYMORE:deal
and than why is he fighting him?? floyd been calling shane out for years lil man....u just twist **** around...IF YOU CAN SAY WHATS IN BOLD BIG LETTERS UP THERE THAN I CAN SAY THE SAME BULL**** ABOUT MANNY..HE DIDN'T WANNA FIGHT CLOTTEY AT ALL HE JUST TOOK THE FIGHT JUST CUZ:thumbsup
