Like Ali Floyd went to the ropes willingly and stayed there for long stretches. And just like Foreman, Chino got tired and was wide open for counters. It wasn't just Chino swinging at air though that made him tired, Floyd did great work on Maidana's body, that jab and many hooks found its target. Likewise Chino's body work which included a mix of legal shots and fouls to Floyd's legs , back, thighs, and even his nuts where Maidana hit him several times could of slowed down Mayweather's footwork.

I had Floyd winning 8-4 but Maidana put up a good effort, however he did bend the rules a little too much for my liking. Anybody else find that chopping right hand Maidana throws borderline illegal?

He landed like 20 of those blows in the first three rounds.

Fighters often go to the ropes, especially when they don't have the legs they used to.

Ali handled Foreman much easier than Mayweather handled Maidana. People that act like Foreman was just beating Ali up and then tired haven't really watched that fight. Revisionist history.

And that was RJJ's downfall once his legs went he hung out on the ropes way to long for his own good

I had it 118-110 Floyd landed all the clean shots maidana best rounds were 5 and 8. I gave Floyd most of the rounds because maidana smothered is work

He didn't do it on purpose, but he made the best of the situation since he was stuck in it. He looked scared and was complaining like hell, typically not the behaviour of someone who was in control. He was not.

You seem like a real boxing fan but people really need to stop using this "scared" term when referring to fighters. A scared fighter gets knocked out, see Tyson 1980s

I agree. I remember he did this in two Tarver fights and was shocked to see how easily he went to the ropes. With that said I don't think PBF's legs are gone he was still moving around the ring late in the fight.

He didn't look scared at all, be real, we've all seen the fight and the evidence is there to view. Floyd also had good reason to complain given the punches to the back of the head, balls, head butting and attempted Muay Thai knee to the face.

I don't think being scared is a bad thing, it puts you in survival mode with heightened senses. It made him do his best to get out of a bad situation. Which he did.

did you guys notice that Maidana threw a punch when they were both on the floor when he almost speared Floyd through the ropes? was watching the fight again and the overhead replay caught it.

The difference is Ali knew it was costing him rounds and he had to KO Foreman.

Maywether has the judges so in his pocket he can shell up and still win rounds.
