well he's already contacted them and obviously wants them involved in the fight

Bball Chump already answered your question with the ESPN article and with Ellerbe's own words. GBP and Top Rank negotiated the first time around and got through everything pretty quick EXCEPT for the testing. They should have no problem making this fight and your question should be at Arum and why he is making it difficult now. Your hatred for Mayweather won't let you do that though.

Its not, could be. It is how it works kid. Those are the facts. All of these fighters with these Promotional companies all use the big boys to handle their Promotions. Roy Jones has Square Ring but he used Muhammed to handle the majority of the Promotions. Do you think Manny has a license to Promote his own fights? Hell no. Mayweather doesn't either. GBP handles the promotional side of things for Mayweather and Arum had no problem with it before and he shouldn't now.

The only reason you or anyone else thinks they shouldn't be involved is bc Arum brought it up.

I know your thread is about GBP and I just gave you an example as to why Floyd uses them. Al Haymon is his adviser and Ellerbe is his manager. They handle the contract negotiations along with Shaefer assisting them but GBP handles the Promotional side of things.

GBP booked the MGM on May 5th for Mayweather and Shaefer and Ellerbe contacted Top Rank to start negotiations but received word that Top Rank wanted a 4th fight with Marquez. Arum needs to stop the games and pick up the phone.

 

I am by no means an expert but from what I have read Floyd does not have a contract with Golden Boy, he is able to be promoted by whomever he chooses.
Hence him being courted by Don King and receiving a formal offer to promote him.

Now does Floyd want GBP to be involved? Well I would say this, Floyd hasn't come out and said someone else is going to be promoting him. Also judging by the very frosty relationship he has with Top Rank and coupled with the fact that according to Mayweather Top Rank still owe him money from previous fights. I doubt very much he would trust Arum to handle the biggest fight of his career.

So Vengeex Floyd hasn't come out and specifically said GBP are going to be involved in the negoatiations but did he ever say that the previous 5 times they did (OK Then!)
By the same token Floyd hasn't come out and said he is a) being promoted by another team or b) he is happy to be promoted by Top Rank either.

So you are just pushing your own agenda that negoatiations are taking place and Bob Arum is dealing with it all, which I very much doubt.

Manny is clearly being f.ucked over by Arum which Floyd has gone on record to say so I doubt very very much that Mayweather puts his trust in Arum.

GBP handles the Promotional Side to things.

Example: If I was a club owner and wanted to have an event their and I wanted to get some singer or rapper to perform I would have my people handle the negotiations side of things. I would then get a Promotional Company handle the Promotions for the event. How is it that you can't understand this?
