yes. in a Top Rank-Mayweather Promotions affair, GBP would just cut in floyd's share when floyd would not even fight a GBP fighter. unless floyd is contractually tied unto GBP, they are not needed and would be just a redundunt to Top Ranks task. and besides, didn't floyd and his fans claim that he can promote a fight by himself?

Floyd has GBP to handle his promotions of his fights. Mayweather Promotions doesn't have a license to do the Promotions in Nevada. Mayweather uses GBP and will use them again just like he used them in the first negotiations.

GBP booked the MGM on behalf of Mayweather for May 5TH. Ellerbe and Shaefer contacted Top Rank to began negotiation process and Top Rank turned them away.

Yes Floyd is his own boss. But like many companies, when the work is too much, he hires someone from the outside that he TRUSTS as a contractor.


Whether you like it or not, Bob Arum is the now the biggest obstacle in making the Floyd-Pac fight. All the spinning in the world doesn't change that fact. He has never had a problem working with other promoters (including GBP) in the past, and shouldn't have a problem working with whoever Floyd says he wants to work with (contracted or not).

 

Their hate won't let them understand what you just said. They are just looking at a reason to try and put blame on Floyd if the fight doesn't happen.

 

If two greedy promotion (GBP and TR) will carry this fight and the two fighters will demand a double (or even triple to quadruple) their usual 20-30M guaranteed purse.

Then let's hypotethetically peg the fight to make around almost 3M PPV + double the usual gates. That's like a little bit double of what each pac or fmj makes already (1.3 to 1.5 PPV).

Doing the maths, on the business side - i can't blame why either TR and GBP is trying to drop each other. It's slimming their side's share, making it the same (or near) as any other reqular fight each party is already making. The high risk , low returns logic comes into play.
