Trolling aside, this is a serious question. Ortiz was always a little awkward, but after the Mayweather fight, his delusion reached an all time high and his ability to take a punch was forever shattered.

This is a guy who went through a prime Lamont Peterson and Andre Berto to getting his jaw broken by a lightweight journeyman and getting ko'd by a shot to **** Luiz Collazo.

I think the pay day went to his head.....I don't think he took to training as hard as he did before the payday honestly.

So you agree that Floyd ruined Ortiz mentally with his paycheck? He did the same to Maidana.

Given the nature of the fight I wouldn't call it cheap.

Wow, congrats on a well placed post. Ortiz had just had a FOTY and the new 147 WBC champion. He earned the payday but he acted like it was $20 million dollars.

I think in a lot of ways, Ortiz never quite recovered from the Maidana loss. His fight with Berto certainly acted as redemption from that - and I think Ortiz was satisfied with that redemptive feat. For Ortiz, I think he soared as high as he ever imagined by beating Berto and landing the winning ticket in the Mayweather sweepstakes. And to that note, Floyd was already beginning to break Ortiz down mentally, as evidenced by the battering ram headbutt from Victor.

That fight was as WWE as it gets, with the blatant headbutt, the apologies and then the two suckerpunches in succession while the referee was distracted by someone in the corner.
It only missed the classic folding chair.

Doubt that was the trigger for Ortiz to mentally collapse in future bouts or get his chin cracked.
It was a very cringe worthy and facepalm inducing event though.

Agreed. Overall the whole ordeal led for an unsatisfactory ending. And the shame in all that was, it appeared (to me at least) to be turning into an interesting encounter.

it wasn't turning interesting....Floyd was embarrass Ortiz if the fight went on....Ortiz was going to go the maidana route and try to make it dirty ...problem is Ortiz is a real sweetheart at heart and doesn't have what it takes to pull it off.....he wanted to play kissy kissy with Floyd after trying to disrespect him and use his head as a weapon......it wasn't the way you wanted to see a fight end....but when Floyd is gracious enough to choose you and pay you...you should show more respect than trying to beat him by using your head as a weapon.....Floyd was just going to keep dominating victor and it was going to get worse

Ortiz was almost knocked out by Maidana and quit. Ortiz was almost knocked out twice by Berto. So Ortiz was mentally and physically damaged by the time Floyd sucker punched him in a fixed fight.
