I was watching Tyson Vs Lewis a few days ago and something really struck me.

    I only watched the first couple of rounds, and Foreman who was commentating made two very interesting comments he said;

"You have to push Tyson back"
"You have to hit him with uppercuts"

I know easier said than done, but this exactly how a Prime Foreman would have fought. So deep inside, did Foreman know he had Tysons number?

I feel that Tyson probably would have done better against Prime Foreman than the older wiser Foreman

    Thoughts?

Yes, Mike's # was unlisted at the time...but Foreman was given Mike's number through a mutual friend and from most reports they spoke occasional and were very cordial!

This debate has been done many times before.

Some say Tyson was too fast and elusive and would get inside and destroy Foreman with speed and combinations.
    I think that's fanciful nonsense.

My opinion is that Foreman would push Tyson back, or hold him in place, and bomb the **** out of him with uppercuts. Brutal win for Foreman, and early too.
    But it's opinion.
    Nothing will ever be proved.

I didnt agree with Foreman winning at first, but if you Watch The Lennox Tyson fight, hes there making those comments he says you have to push Tyson back and throw uppercuts. Which is exactly how he would have fought.

    Yep.
And I've said it before, and people will get upset at me for saying it but Tyson wasn't hard to push back because he often stood square on and didn't have great balance in that stance.

Thats true, he was never hard to push back and never did anything in the clinch.

Foreman would have a field day with Tyson. I didnt used to believe it, but after listening to Foremans comments during the Lewis fight. I think Cus was right.....

I used to think Mike would do better against younger Foreman until I saw how slow George was with other fighters. Mike might get off certain punches against George in George's second career which he could not have in the first. Either way, George could probably beat Mike in either career. George had a decent chin and George would be thinking offence the whole time with style on his side.

I think he had Tyson's head, and therefore his number. Have a hard time seeing Mike win in a situation where every backwards step would be his. Squared up broad shoulders would be very easy to push back on. Morrison had the height and reach to adapt. Tyson's lesser stature would make it more difficult for him to adjust.

Tyson would have destroyed the 1991 George Foreman. Foreman got nearly shut out by Glass Jaw tommy morrison and got the **** kicked out of him by Alex Stewart(a man tyson flattened in 1 round)....get real people.

Yeah, and Tyson got stopped twice by Holyfield where George took him the distance in a competitive match. So, your point is nullified.

Foreman is the worst matchup for Tyson this side of Ali. Rock chin, bull strength, best uppercuts in the heavyweight division and the ability to push any man back. What is Tyson going to do? Get inside with his footwork, uncork a hook? He'll get through some, he'll also get pushed off-balance some. I don't think Mike keeps a gameplan together after being bullied.

Yes Foreman would have destroyed any version of Tyson, but Axel Shultz, Alex Stewart and Tommy Morrison all had his number and Crawford Grimesley and Lou Savarese all had iron chins to go the distance with Foreman. Funny to think the undisputed champion who faced many boxers and pressure fighters could only stand toe to toe in front of Foreman??? ****ing joke!
