make joe frazier or any other of his opponents punch drunk?to the point of slurring their words and having physical difficulties?
Probably part of it. Any fighter who takes sustained punishment through their career and has the ability to stand up to it, will eventually start deteriorating mentally. Foreman could certainly dish out some power and guys like Frazier and Ali took a lot of his shots.
None of them made rapez and saw demonz. So clearly the hardest punchers are: 1. David Tua 2. Razor Ruddock 3. George Foreman
He hit Foreman so hard..he saw God. That is pretty impressive. Not as impressive as the ****** punch though.
Maybe Ruddock should be above Tua, Tyson didn't "see demons" he became one, biting the ear of poor Evander twice! :scaredas:
Yes, if i do say so myself. :deal In '03, clearly still punchdrunk from Ruddock's bombs, Tyson went & got himself that crazy face tattoo, before facing Ettiene. This content is protected
Any lasting physical damage to a fighter,in my opinion,is done through an accumulation of bouts, and not one in particular. If Ali and Joe had only fought Foreman, then they would probably have had no health problems at all. In spite of George's monstrous power.
Frazier took some insane punishment from Foreman in Kingston, and Ali. However, he also sustained some accumulated punishment in infamous Philly sparring wars and competition. George didn't nail Ali's head all that much, mainly pounded his body. I do think Muhammad paid something of a price for repeated concussions from Shavers, a bout he reportedly doesn't remember a great deal of, just enough to say Earnie was the hardest puncher he was hit by. (He was perfectly lucid following the FOTC, Kinshasa and Manila.)
I think the 3 fights with Ali, particularly 1 and 3 had more of an impact on Frazier's brain than Foreman did. Foreman just went out and knocked Joe out quickly. Against Ali, Frazier took hundreds of hard punches to the head and kept fighting.
