I did believe this was a win win fight for Yarde , in my opinion he proved heart and a chin which we didn’t know before. It was a calculated risk with whatever why you want to look at it astute matchmaking to get what most believed was a flattering ranking. Is Krusher on his last legs ? Watch that space I certainly don’t see him beating any of the other 175 champs , I think he chases a cash out with a Canelo beating.
Surely Yarde would have stood a better chance if he actually fought someone half decent though, he followed Kov around the ring using his chin as his defence. Then it looked like they done the homer simpson tactic of taking a beat until the boxer tires.
He took an amazing amount of punches from a savage puncher, you have to wonder if he will be the same again. If he isn't then Tunde needs to take responsibility. I don't subscribe to this "he was knocked out by a jab" claim as I've seen some people on here. I think he was damaged and exhausted and that was just the final straw.
I agree, was promotional genius. Different story if the fighter has the tools to go right to the top like Bautsi, but Yarde clearly has not got that quality. If Yarde got anywhere near £4m he should be doing a handstand as he is not above British level.
Yes, ODH will of seen kov in there and thought ,"we'll have a bit of thst for Canelo" They will now see it as a easy way to pick up a strap at lhw
I said it was a bad fight from the start but he nearly pulled it off, I'm not sure it was the game plan to wait for kovalev to gas and then jump on him but it nearly happened. Warren was hoping kovalev was finished but he isn't, he was far too good for yarde (apart from one round) even though he's getting on a bit.
Summed up perfectly. Similar type of stoppage of Nigel Benn by Michael Watson, through sheer exhaustion.
This content is protected is just MRFC-tier trolling, and should be spat on with a winter-cold greenie. Given the "footie" season has just restarted after its epically long two-week break, they will be noticeably quieter now anyway. The bombs that Yarde landed on Kova's midsection would have folded Joshua up like a wet Metro.
Would be interesting if he got that kind of money. If he still has the heart to go and learn and improve as he still has quiet a way to go and will need a lot of hunger to get up and grind. For me the next fight can be a gimme but he has to step up in class from here on. He can’t go back to fighting punchbags. Atleast stick him in with the Barrera’s, Fornlings and. Smith Jr of this world.
Reality is that something like a Burton fight before this fight would have prepared him better so I’m of the opinion that it was a bad fight to take at this stage and almost arrogant of them to think they were gonna win against an ageing champ. It backfired and I think other opponents will see the chink in the armour so I don’t see it as a win win fight cos he lost. Still puzzled as to what help tapping a pad 1000 times a minute does in a fight like that????
It will be interesting to see were he goes next. I think the names you mention are too good for Yarde at the moment, he needs to be fighting the Hosea Burtons of this world. I think first he needs a good rest, get a new trainer, spend a few months improving his jab and conditioning e.g. before going into a fight camp.
