I think that Khan was set up ... because watching the post fight interviews ... Warren said that he took Prescott off of the advise of the new trainer. Who does that ****? Khan was supposed to be taken along slowly ... and he was on the verge of a title shot within the next year ... why put him in against such a tough test so early ... especially considering the guy is undefeated with a crazy KO ratio ... and he isn't there to put Amir in the position for a title fight -- I doubt this guy is a top 10 ranked fighter. To make things worse Warren picked up the promotional rights to this guy ... thats so Don King.
Khan set himself up by forgetting the art of not walking onto shots whilst knowing you don't have a chin
Before that fight, people were complaining: Khan is taking another easy opponent...blabla... Now he was set up...
I never thought that Khan was in an easy fight ... I seen where Prescott was from and I seen his record and thought that Khan's night was going to be ended by a right hand over the top ... I was wrong about one thing ... it was a left hook. I had started a thread here after the Gomez fight questioning his chin and I knew it was only a matter of time before he got KO'd.
What kinda money can he make with damaged goods? ... the jury is out on that chin and will be the focal point for future opposition.
I wouldve imagined that Khan would be a multiple weight class champion but it doesn't seem like that chin can hold up as he goes up in weight.
Khan wasn't set up. Khan was the superior boxer with a hard punch himself. This was a test but a fight he was supposed to win. I guess everyone thought it would be a matador vs bull type thing but somewhere along the line Khan got confused, came straight forward, and got smoked. I don't think anyone was expecting Khan to be so stupid.
he obviously didn't set him up khan was warrens golden goose. i'm glad he's been exposed relatively early on, why shouldn't khan have had to face a puncher like this ?thats what boxing should be all about. warren saying that he was taking responsibility for khan being knocked-out as he underestimated the columbian is basically admitting he's protected him all his career so far, and that he knew the minute( literally) he stepped up he'd be found out. disgracful.
A set-up? No way. Just a bit of a gamble that blew up in their faces. In fairness to Khan and Warren they had to take a gamble as people were beginning to get tired of him fighting tomato cans. If he had beaten Prescott convincingly then the Khan train would have rolled on and he would have been hyped up even farther by Warren, Sky and himself so thank god for a certain hammer-fisted hungry columbian.
