Warren is full of ****. See my thread titled "Prescott moved to 13 from 110 on Boxrec"

Prescotts record other than Khan is shite. He hasnt beaten ANYBODY. Half his KOs are against guys with zero victories and nothing but losses.

I think Warren picked him believing his was just a sub-par fighter with a gaudy record. It wasnt like he was knocking out even C-level opponents. He fought D-level guys and paid to lose .300 record journeyman.

I believe Warren was anticipating that Khan would just outclass him, and that had Khan won he could have hyped Khan even more by saying "He just fought a Big puncher and beat him".

His plan obviously blew up in his face

Unfortunately thats a pretty good description of Khan's record too! I wonder if Khan has woken up to that and is regretting re-signing with Warren now.

I love how Khan himself called it a big step up when he had only 1 less fight than this guy and a pretty high KO percentage of his own!! This is the guy who thought he was going to be a world champ and beat Hatton and Paquiao within a year! I hope he learns a little humility from this, then maybe he'll earn some fan support back

Khan was defending his WBO-int title ... but I doubt that Prescott was even ranked top 10 by the WBO ... while Khan was a top 5 by most sanctioning bodies.

If anything either Warren shouldve postponed the fight or found an opponent that wasn't as threatening as Prescott ... maybe someone else ... possibly a top 10 ranked opponent.

It would be better to get beat by a more recognized foe than an unknown.

Khan ought to have taken on one of the leading contenders at domestic level - guys who he had called out previously and then ducked when they said 'Let's get it on!'

Apparently he was 'above European level' - bearing in mind the European champion beat a guy he has ducked for the past two years :rofl

Limond was new at the weight, don't forget - but for the ref forgetting what number came after 6 and allowing Khan to take a knee after getting up at 4 he would have lost by KO then :patsch

Yes, I believe Frank Warren did set Amir Khan up. Think about it - Warren is Khan's promoter and makes more money as Khan gets more successful and more popular. The best way therefore for Frank Warren to make more money was to choose an opponent that would annihilate Khan in 50 seconds, and ruin his chances of a world title shot and subsequent world title defences for at least a couple of years. Yes Fitzgeraldz, I see where you're coming from - Frank Warren purposefully pushed Amir Khan back down the boxing ladder because he actually hates money and doesn't want any more of it. Genius! :patsch
