Warren didn't tell Khan to rush in chin out guns a blazin and "prove you're a man!"...that was on Khan. Khan got owned, plain and simple.
No,he actually wen't to the dressing room and said:''Put your chin out and say he thought you(pointing toward Jorge Rubio) and then after you get KOed,which btw will happen I''ll say he chose the opponent and we both will blame it on him" and went running out of the room
The funny thing is, and I don't know if this is down to Frank Warren being really smart, but Amir's defeat has helped FW out a lot. For a start, Khan's profile has increased even more, beyond the UK, because it was such a shocking outcome, the fight got coverage overseas, which means the next Khan fight, a rematch with Presscott, on PPV, everyone will want to see that. Even if that doesn't happen (seems unlikely) more people know who Amir Khan is - that is good for FW. So yeah, it could well have been FW setting Khan up for a fall with this one.
By the time he reached his seats he already told the ref:''In case he gets KD in the first 30 seconds(which he should cuz the other guy actually uses his arms)even if he is wobbly you don't stop the fight at anything,if he gets KD in the next seconds again, then just count'em out......the ref stoping him and saying:''Yeah I know,he ain't getting up a second time, not with that focking chin" and they both laugh and make a cross sign
Posters like you make me sick to my stomach. "OHH POOR KHAN, he needed to be MORE protected than he was!" :| Give me a break. :tired
Khan was being taken along too slowly, he had faced absolutely nobody at DOMESTIC level - other than a shot Graham Earl. He ducked all the rest.
Warren set up Khan with easy beatable opponent, for anyone who don't belive this, you have to watch Abril vs Prescot. Prescot was given gift decision - that how bad Prescot really is. I had Abril up by 3 points. Prescot had undefited record and was easy beatable but Khan somehow found the way to get KO'd.
warren makes his living from feeding off his fighters and building their rep's on a european level without building them up on the world stage. so no, he would never set up khan that way. he just screwed up like he did when david haye was going to move up to heavy and so he thought it was payday for enzo ....
he got ricky hatton the tszyu fight to be fair. 50% agree with you though,he does seem to be a little too involved, but you have to understand warren has been in the game a long long time and handled alot of britains star boxers over the last 15 /20 years, and he has made some big fights.
true but hatton laid down the law to warren to get the tszyu fight - it was an ultimatum. and hatton still made his break after that and i respect him more than any british fighter in recent time for doing what he did. unfortunately, a lot of high profile britsh fighters over the last 20 years haven't legitimately made the move across the pond and, if you dont do that, you dont have the leverage to fight on the world stage. this is the very philosophy that frank warren subscribes to because he can build up momentum in britain and thats really what he wants to do.
