Did Fury doubt himself before Usyk 1?

His hyper aggressive behaviour at the press conferences - and weird one-man presser in Morecambe, to me, said he wasn't 100% sure of himself going into fight 1. Even his ring walked looked forced. I think we was well aware of the threat Usyk posed.
What do you think - and how do you rate his confidence going into fight 2?

I don’t think he doubted himself I think he was just scared of the idea of losing given it was a real possibility- not because of the fight itself but more from a reputation point of view given how much he had spoken - as you can see all that ‘no man born yada yada’ has left his vocabulary and he now emphasises his skills. Now the 0 is gone he’s likely to be freeer what’s the worst that can happen that hasn’t already happened before?

I think he is just showing up for the pay check this time

I don't think he believes he can win, but he feels like he has to fight

I know I'm talking about the second fight, but he looks like a beaten man already

That he couldn't upset Usyk with his pre-fight banter surprised Fury. Couple that with him knowing it would likely be his career toughest fight and yeah, he may have second guessing himself.

Fury is unlikely to waste time and energy trying to upset Usyk this time and will likely go in a bit more focused. Some from the boxing fraternity are selecting Fury to stop Usyk his time.

Yes, if anything, not scared per se, just fear of the possibility of losing - like many boxers would have - Mike Tyson articulated that same type of fear - Ali too, just prior to the FOTC to explain whatever nervousness he might’ve had before opening bell.

He looked to be in the best shape of his life coming into the fight, so no. I think he thought he needed every advantage possible to beat Usyk including the mental one, which is why he played so many mind games.

Probably. He knows Usyk is a tremendous boxer and Fury came off a poor performance against Ngannou.

It will be very interesting to see his approach now that zero is gone. Nothing left to lose.

I'm thinking so too. He looks like he's aged 20 years. I think Usyk destroyed him both physically and mentally.

Is this sarcasm or genuine? If genuine, I am sorry. We all watch our fighters go down sooner or later. I'll never forget when Chavez got his ass kicked by De La Hoya. I felt like I got my ass kicked.

I'll never forget when Norris beat up Leonard and my buddy's dad was just wandering around muttering, "they beat him bad."

    We all go through it.

    Fury never wanted the fight.

We have a video of Fury saying he wouldn't fight Usyk from 2020 even if Usyk beat Joshua. His reasoning was that Usyk didn't speak English well and hence, he shouldn't be heavyweight champion of the world.

When Usyk beat Joshua twice, Fury tried to price himself out of the fight by insisting on a 60/40 split. When Usyk agreed to it, he changed it to a 70/30 split in his favour. Usyk agreed as well. Then Fury tried to insist on the same 70/30 split in the rematch and essentially priced himself out of the fight.

Then Turki came and offered so much money, it forced Fury's hands.

If it wasn't for the Saudi's, Fury would have never fought him. So of course he was nervous.

You can't force the hand of a man who doesn't need the money, with money.

He did, that's why he held that shyte of a press conference in Morcambe where he had his nuthuggers patting him on the back and was rambling about how good big men always beat good smaller men. Now the cope turned into "I always knock out my opponents in rematches".

He's not my fighter, I just liked him much more than Joshua

It's genuine. I don't rate usyk that highly, but he's clearly better than the fat slob and Fury knows it

I respected his comeback and the heart he showed during wilder 1 and 3. But don't get me wrong, I do not, or have never rated, or cared for Fury that much.

It was Aj who I think is an absolute fraud and always favoured Fury over him. I do still want Fury to win, because I think Usyk is MASSIVELY overrated by beaten terrible heavyweights, but I don't think Fury is good enough.

I do rate usyk, but he gets hit and hit alot. I don't think he's the master he is portrayed. He's just simply a step above the subpar fighters he is in with

Remember usyk is only beating a guy who lost to an mma fighter already, so I don't rate his wins over Fury.

Even his wins over Joshua are nothing special, who already got smashed by ruiz and had shattered confidence since

Dubois has been exposed and will again soon

Usyk run at CW is better, but the HW division is poor

We don't all go through it
I'm a mayweather and calzaghe fan. Yes I have other favourites who got their butt kicked, Mike Tyson especially

But Floyd never got beat up.

You can only beat the people in front of you though. I find cross era comparisons totally useless.
