Did Fury just pull off the most creative and plausively deniable duck in boxing history ?

I almost wish Wilder would pull off the lottery punch.
He probably won't but Fury deserves it.

    And it's plausibly - what a marroon.

I'm not sure that I understand how Fury could possibly be blamed for this. Wilder refused to step aside, then took it to arbitration. Fury signed to fight Joshua. Then Wilder wins arbitration. Wilder refuses step aside money again and Fury's promoter wouldn't pay it even if Wilder would accept it.

I've seen lots of morons making such a claim.
    It makes no sense whatsoever.
Fury is contractually obliged to fight Wilder. The exact same as things were 12 months ago. Because of Covid pandemic, the 'expiration' date of the contract doesn't hold, according to an arbitration judge, and Wilder demands his rematch. That's it.

It makes no sense for Fury to have engineered a pretense to want to set up another fights, since obviously it would be easier for him to just say he's got a contract with Wilder. Nobody needed an "excuse" from him, the contract is the contract.
Nobody said this contract amounts to "ducking AJ" 12 months ago, so why are they so stupid to suggest it amounts to ducking AJ now ?

He's seeking indemnification via blood, apparently, which if true does have a pleasingly poetic tone to it. I wouldn't doubt the power of an astronomical dollar amount superceding his need for vindication, but that's a lot of step aside money for a man you've dominated and battered for more than a dozen rounds. I'm telling you guys this fight will be intriguing, the lead up to the will be juicy AF.

I think the insinuation is that Fury knew deep down that the contract was airtight for a rematch clause with Wilder and that by confirming he would fight Joshua in the knowledge that it couldn’t happen is the duck.

lmfao. It's beyond me how people can blame Fury for Wilder not stepping aside. It's incredible. Haters gonna hate.

Then he should have fought Wilder in Jan or Feb.
And then the August fight with Joshua would be happening.
If it wasn't intentional it's pretty damn dumb.

It was decided in an arbitration court by a professional judge, having listened to paid professional contract lawyers from both sides.

If you want to accuse the 'Gypsy King' of being too "damn dumb" to have forseen the outcome with absolute clarity, well yeah, he's just a boxer ....

People love finding ways that ‘X was ducking Y’. It’s very unexciting but doesn’t really happen. This is just a boring case of contract law coming down in Wilder’s favour. Not much more to say.

This is no ones fault. It is what it is, that's all.

I'm gutted, I really am, but at least we are going to get one really interesting fight out of this and another that will at least be highly satisfying if it turns out to be the same beat down as last time.

Not a duck at all, that is just nonsense.

It will end up working out quite well for Fury in the end however. Now he will get a nice and juicy purse from Wilder 3 in addition to the monster paycheck for the AJ fight(s). By the time his fight or series with AJ is completed, Wilder may be retired or already have taken an L from someone else, and a trilogy wouldn't be as lucrative.

I still wish Fury AJ was next though........
