Fury's beard seem a bit thick, maybe it helped absorb Wilder's punches. In the first 2 bouts Fury was clean shaven

I dunno, but it would seem wilder doesnt punch that hard after all.

Considering people have always said fury is chinny Wilders power is over rated,.must be, right?

Of course! The beard was like an extra horsehair padding to protect his chin.

Nope hailing from The Land of Iron-jawed Warriors did. Well it kind of did but not in the way you think it did.

But I considered it a really good omen when I saw him arriving at the venue rocking that beard because it suits him. I thought he looked like a giant bipolar peeled egg in the second fight when he was clean shaven and bad hair, facial hair and choice of ring attire absolutely can and often does massively effect performance and the outcome of a fight.

Ironically he fought great in II and was well below par for III but to be fair he was in much better shape for the former and had he been rocking that beard in II there would've been zero call for a third fight because bearded Fury would've performed an even more biblical and unholy baptism on him.

That being said, had Fury been clean shaven the other night and turned up in that shape where he clearly hadn't trained a lick he might not have gotten up from that brutal illegal clump to the back of the mind in the 4th round.

No, Wilder is a ****ing hard puncher - don't go on the wind up.

Fury just has a ****ing good chin / recovery ability.

B,b,b...but everyone said for years he has a glass chin.

Only a handful of us ever rated fury all along and now all the naysayers are back tracking

    So funny to see.

That,s a total myth. Look at AB for example. His beard was not much of a help.

I have always rated Fury but **** me drunk not to the extent I have been hearing since his battles with Wilder. I am starting to come off as anti-Fury but it's only because the ridiculous **** coming out of so many peoples mouths! The way people are talking about him you'd swear he has just gone through prime Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis in his last 3 fights instead of the bum squad!

Well, the man has won everything there is to be won..

And just beat the **** out of one of the supposedly hardest punches ever ..

Only reason wilder was the puncher he has been is because he was allowed to off load like he's hitting the heavy bag in the gym with most fighters, fury never really gave him that luxury.

Yes, wilder hits hard but only if he's allowed the room and length to lock and load his shots.

What I mean is, his power is pretty negatable if pushed and rushed due to his poor skills.

So yes he has power with poorer fighters but better fighters wont allow for it.

He loaded his beard with cement-based balm, fracturing Wilder's hand and that's the only reason he won
